I do not know what wdw bus this lady has been on but the bus driver helps evc on and asks the driver to lock the ecv and shut it off before they hook up the belts that keep it in place… now in defense of this women why was the bus driver driving at such a speed the ecv would move??? Though why is she coming up front and suing now yrs later??? So whose really at fault??
About 8-9 years ago my mother in law’s scooter was not secured very well by the driver. She stayed on the scooter during the commute and when the bus made a turn, the scooter and my mother in law started to tip over. I partially caught her and she braced herself but did sustain injuries. She refused transfer to the hospital and did not sue. Our trip was definitely impacted by the lackadaisical effort of the driver.
While theres plenty out there that need scooters there are others that dont need em and are just lazy so rent an ecv! If i was someone whom needed it i be so offended! Yes its not good to judge but i seen so many people trading places teens using it like a car etc. And yes running into you!
You really don’t know if they need the scooter or not and like you said, it is not your place to judge as it is not mine! There are diseases and disabilities that cannot be seen on the outside!
when we were on vacation for november two years ago, a gentlemen riding a sccoter in epcot hit me in the thigh part of my leg was not paying any attention and didnt hear us yelling that he hit me. Thank god I wasnt hurt terribly bad just very uncomfortable for a few days.
First 2015??? Just bc the world is sue happy lady doesnt mean you should join em!
I was a past manager first if theres no injury report theres no case many forget this even small business have this! Second bus drivers are supose to safely get you in and belt the chair in it is your job to lock it and remove the key bc the bus driver is a bus driver and not everyone comes in w a standard ecv from wdw that person wouldnt know how to operate it!
Though how fast are these bus drivers going? There is a set speed on the bus i know this a dear friend of mine is still manager for transportation!
Sometimes it may look like someone doesn’t need a scooter but “don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” That person could be post surgery, pregnant, suffering from an illness not visible to the naked eye or like my parents. They’ve had so many surgeries in life on top of their age now and simply can’t handle all of the walking thus suffering from swollen ankles. I myself get nasty glares when I take a turn on my parent’s scooter for a little while or even when my husband has to push me in a wheelchair. I am young, yes, but I suffer from arthritis in both of my knees at this age and a few torn ligaments to boot. I shouldn’t have to provide any documentation or explanation to anyone just because nowadays we want to judge everyone for everything. The issue isn’t the scooters and everyone using them. Some of the people are the real problem. We want to take it out on Disney and blame the scooters too but they don’t drive themselves. Unfortunately, there are some ridiculous people who abuse their right to have one and ruin it for everyone else. It is what it is guys. We cant change the world but we can make sure that we’re not the ones misusing our rights at the parks.
If this dont judge a book is at me i am sorry… i did say no offense i meant it! I also know there are alot of people whom dont need it and act like its their person joytrip! Disney needs to be able to see the need and or ask for a dr note again they still do w guest assist! I am not by the look of me old enough to have issues but arthritis runs in the family and sometimes my knee gives out and i get a wheelchair… i have gotten stared at but at least i am using it for the right reasons just like your family members! And i agree w you too less blame on wdw cm more common sense!

Too many people who shouldn’t have scooters are riding around WDW. Last year I almost got ran over twice.
