I find it hard to believe that this policy will last long. A penalty fee, yes. Maximum $50. But there’s no way they can justify $200. More trouble than it’s worth to have very angry guests get hit with that. They’re still working out the kinks in the new land, and I expect this will change pretty quickly.

Lots of people make multiple reservations for multiple times knowing they’re only going to pick one, but want to be selfish and make sure *they* have the perfect day. This curves this from happening and I’m all for it. The $200 fee is if you *miss your reservation. Not if you cancel it with reasonable time.

The article states you can’t cancel a reservation for the workshop.

Not quite, it says they will make exceptions on a case by case basis.

They say that for resturaunts but they will easily forgive the charge for a good reason, and if it is in enough time.

I think this is an example of Disney being proactive to make sure guests have a good visit and don’t miss out on an experience because some guy made nine light saber reservations. People will abuse and take advantage of any system they can.

What happens if you have a reservation and the park limit has been reached? Do you get in for your reservation?

It did say Disney will make exceptions on a case by case basis. So in this situation, I assume this is a case that should allow a refund.

If you have. Reservation you’re guaranteed entry to the land.

If you have a reservation for either Savi’s or Oga’s they will let you into that area, even if they are currently closed for capacity. Your reservation is your “boarding pass” for the land. You cannot make either reservation days in advance, your park ticket must be scanned in as “IN” Disneyland to make those reservations.

You don’t have to be in the parks or even have a ticket yet to make either reservation. Reservations open online at 7am (before park open). I made both at home online before heading to the park later that day.

The big question would be: can you make a reservation before you are in Galaxy’s Edge?? If so there might be a problem, if not, not an issue.

Are these rules written in some official capacity, like a Galaxy’s Edge website? Its a shame to find out only through a fansite like this.

Disney is money hungry! Other then that you don’t want to know my current thoughts about them!

$200 fee am all for as there are so many people who would love the opportunity and miss out due to greedy people booking multiple time slots just in case.

45 min reservation makes me question how quick the food is being prepared and delivered and what the quality actually is. Sounds more like a counter type meal all pre-cooked. Definitely not something I would want to waste my time with.

There is no food at the cantina. There is like a small snack bowl you can order, Batuu Bites (which 1 poster said it was tortilla chips, dried fish, and wasabi peas) but that’s it no other food, just drinks.

The reservation cancellation fee isn’t unique to the cantina. That’s the rule for all same-day cancellations/no-shows at any table service restaurant at Disneyland.

You also won’t be “seated,” as there are only a handful of booths and mostly bar top (no stools) and high tables for standing. They really don’t want you pushing your 45 minute time limit, so you don’t even get to sit down during that time and enjoy your drink unless you have a party large enough to take up a booth.

It makes sense to me. You are paying $200 to be able to have a unique experience. If you make a reservation, someone else can’t take your place. Therefore, if you miss it, it’s your own fault.

Since the activity has limited availability, and many people want to do it, this ensures the park isn’t losing money on people making reservations and not showing up. I would draw the line if they gave your spot to someone else and they were making double.
