Avengers: Endgame” not only gave fans an epic finale to the last decade of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it also gave us one of the final cameos of Stan Lee as the comic book legend passed away last November. However, some fans want to continue to see these fun cameos in the upcoming MCU films and are looking for someone to take Lee’s place. Who better than old man Steve Rogers (aka Captain America)?

For those who don’t know, Stan Lee has had a cameo in every Marvel Cinematic Universe film since 2008, beginning with “Iron Man.” Recently, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, confirmed that Lee’s last cameo is coming up with “Spider-Man: Far From Home.” This has left some fans quite sad at the fact that the comic book legend who started it all will no longer be a part of the many more superhero films to come. Although, after the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” it seems the MCU has a new elderly man, which some would like to see take Lee’s place.

At the end of “Avengers: Endgame,” we see that Captain America chooses to go back in time after returning all the infinity stones to live out his life at the time he was from, the 1940s. This ends the film with Rogers returning to the film’s present time as an elderly man, which some fans thought was Stan Lee at the beginning of the scene.

Captain America is one of the original Avengers in the current MCU and has been a majorly influential part of the past 22 films, which makes some believe he would be the perfect replacement.

This older version of Steve Rogers could pop up in future films almost as if he was keeping an eye on some of his old friends.

At this point, it’s not known if the MCU already has plans for this elderly Steve Rogers as some suggest he could pop up in future MCU films in flashbacks or as a small part in the upcoming Falcon and Winter Solider TV show coming to Disney+.
