IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, the long-running nighttime spectacular at Epcot, has set a closing date, Disney announced.
Epcot bids farewell to the show on September 30, 2019, and the all-new, limited-time spectacular Epcot Forever debuts on October 1. Epcot Forever “will take us on a journey through the past, present and future of Epcot. Featuring a stirring collection of songs that paint a colorful picture of the park, this nighttime extravaganza will offer both a trip down memory lane and a look towards the future and all the magical possibilities still to come,” says Disney.
Below, take a peek at Epcot Forever with show director Alan Bruun and conductor and composer Don Harper, who is producing new arrangements of classic Epcot tunes for the show’s soundtrack.
Epcot Forever will continue into 2020 before a permanent replacement for IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth takes over. We don’t have much information on the currently-unnamed show at this point, but Shawn Slater of Disney Parks Live Entertainment recently said, “This next show that we’re bringing on as part of this overall transformation at Epcot that’s going on is really on a massive scale like we’ve never done. Just immense floating set pieces, fireworks, LED panels that are huge, other special effects and lasers. The big, floating set pieces will also have fountains on board that do different choreographed things. It’s amazing.”
As Epcot says goodbye to IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, the park is offering a dining package with guaranteed seating on the lakefront patio at Rose & Crown Dining Room. The package costs $85 per adult and $35 per child aged 3 – 9 and includes a prix-fixe menu and an unlimited selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Tax and gratuity are included. To book a reservation, head over to the Walt Disney World website.
