Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at Disneyland on May 31, and if you’re planning to visit from May 31 – June 23, 2019, you’ll need to book a no-cost reservation. Fans have been waiting for more information on how to book their spot for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Disney finally revealed some details on how it’s going to work.

On Thursday, May 2 at 10:00 AM PT, registration opens and you can make your reservation by visiting the Disneyland Reservation page here. You must have a Disney account in order to make a reservation. If you need to create an account, you should do so here before you begin the registration process. Remember — while reservations for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge are free, you also need to have a ticket to enter Disneyland park.

Additionally, the guest who makes the reservation, even if under 18 years old, will need to bring a valid government issued photo ID. Upon check-in, all guests over the age of 18 will need to have a valid government issued ID plus the guest who made the reservation regardless of his/her age. Therefore be sure to have an adult make the reservation if at all possible.

Alternatively, if you want to guarantee a reservation for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you can do so by staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel between May 31 and June 23, 2019. Those guests will receive one reservation per registered guest without going through the process above. Disneyland Resort hotels have already started receiving confirmation e-mails with their Galaxy’s Edge reservation time.

Keep in mind, you must have a reservation to visit Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge during the first 24 days. There will be no standby lines, so if you don’t have a reservation, you’re out of luck. After June 23, guests can enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge without a reservation, but obviously, crowds are still expected to be high and access to the new land may be limited. Regardless, D23 says, “Our friends at Disneyland Resort have decades of strategic operational planning and tools to ensure that all guests visiting the Resort have a fantastic experience, regardless of whether or not they plan to visit Black Spire Outpost.”

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on August 29. Reservations will not be offered or required to enter Galaxy’s Edge at that park, but you will need valid theme park admission.
