Suit up, Marvel fans. The Avengers have arrived at Disney Parks and more Super Hero experiences are coming soon, starting with your friendly, neighborhood Spider-Man.
Disney just revealed details about an all-new immersive and interactive attraction coming soon to Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney Studios at Disneyland Paris. The setting for this innovative theme park experience is a new organization called the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (or WEB, for short). According to Disney, the WEB is grounded in classic Marvel characters like Spider-Man and invites Disney Parks guests to “suit up” and engage with Marvel Super Heroes in new and exciting ways. If you’ve always wanted to feel like a Super Hero, you’ll get to have that experience at WEB.
Here’s how Disney describes WEB and the new Marvel experiences arriving soon:
The Avengers are setting up new Headquarters and training facilities around the globe to inspire all potential recruits willing to step up and become something more. As part of this global initiative, Tony Stark has founded the Worldwide Engineering Brigade — or WEB for short— to develop advancements in super-powered technology, including new enhancements to Spider-Man’s suit as their debut project. By bringing together the world’s brightest young inventors, the WEB is creating new interfaces that will empower all of us to join the ranks of Earth’s Mightiest.
One of the most exciting announcements that Disney shared is that Spider-Man will be one of the first Marvel Super Heroes to swing into action as part of the new attraction. Spider-Man has already been spotted wearing an all-new suit at Walt Disney Studios, and we’re excited to see his new look when he arrives soon at Disney California Adventure.
Disney hasn’t yet revealed an official opening date for WEB or the other Marvel attractions coming to Disney California Adventure, though this recent announcement shared that the all-new WEB experiences will “blend seamlessly into the story of the new lands we’re creating at both Disney California Adventure park and Walt Disney Studios park, where there will be surprises at every turn.”
Previously, Disney shared that the attractions arriving at the theme parks in California and Paris will “empower and inspire recruits willing to step up and become heroes.” These attractions coming to Disney California Adventure and Walt Disney Studios follow Tony Stark as he retrofits two of his father’s Stark Industries sites into new hubs for training and innovation. Through partnerships with S.H.I.E.L.D., Pym Technologies, Masters of the Mystic Arts, and the new Worldwide Engineering Brigade, these new campuses will help the Avengers champion the next generation of heroes.
As Disney continues to reveal more details about the Marvel-themed attractions and experiences arriving at Disney Parks worldwide, our excitement and anticipation keeps building. And if WEB is just as epic as Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT, we won’t be able to get enough of the Avengers at Disney Parks.
