In celebration of Mickey and Minnie’s 90th birthday later this month, LEGO DUPLO has released a stop-motion video featuring an updated take on the 1931 classic Disney animated short “The Birthday Party.”
In the original short, Mickey’s friends throw him a surprise birthday party at Minnie’s house, which is where an array of comedy ensues. One memorable clip includes a scene of Mickey Mouse hilariously blowing out the candles on his birthday cake, while simultaneously blowing the cake all over the chef who prepared it for him.

This reimagined version by LEGO doesn’t follow the original script as closely, although it does capture some of the magic of this beloved Disney classic. Take a look at the new short in the video above.
