A lot of people go to Disney theme parks for the rides. A lot go for the shows and characters, a lot go for the atmosphere, and even more go for all of those things combined. But a growing number of people each year seem to be going for the food– not to mention the unique dining experiences that deliver that food to the place settings in front of them at impressively-designed, lovingly-Imagineered restaurants, diners, and bars around Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World.
This past weekend, the latest addition to that list of popular eateries arrived at Disney California Adventure: Lamplight Lounge (formerly Ariel’s Grotto and Cove Bar) in the newly-rethemed area Pixar Pier (previously known as Paradise Pier) in the southwest corner of the park. The restaurant has been crafted to feel like a place Pixar animators might go to hang out after a long day of creating some of the world’s most popular movies.
WATCH LAMPLIGHT LOUNGE FULL TOUR:
Lamplight Lounge includes affectionate tributes to just about every feature film and animated short subject to come out of Pixar Animation Studios since it first launched more than three decades ago. The walls in the main dining room on the lower level are decked with countless Easter Eggs, in-jokes, and references to the worlds of “Toy Story,” “Cars,” “The Incredibles,” and all our other Pixar favorites. The outside bar pays homage to the now-departed Paradise Pier, and there’s even a secret room called “The Office” that must be opened via a secrets of turning cranks and pressed buttons.
Whether you’re in the mood for those famous Lobster Nachos, want to grab a quick bite or a refreshing drink, Lamplight Lounge is almost certainly destined to become a popular hangout spot for DCA regulars and Southern California tourists alike.
Lamplight Lounge is now open, along with Pixar Pier, in the Disney California Adventure theme park at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.
