This summer, channel your inner superhero with the return of the runDisney Virtual Running Shorts series celebrating Disney-Pixar’s “Incredibles 2.”
Sign up for one of three 5K runs, then select a course of your choosing. Your course can be in your neighborhood, on local trails, or even on the treadmill at a nearby gym. Each race has a different commemorative finisher medal spotlighting one of the characters from the upcoming “Incredibles 2.” If you really want to push your superhero skills to the max, run all three 5k races within the completion timeframe to earn the Virtual Running Shorts Series Finisher Medal.
These virtual races are a great way to train for other upcoming runDisney events or to get active with your friends and family. Because you’re designing your own course, the race can be customized for beginners or experienced runners.
Races take place from June 1 – August 31, 2018, and each individual race costs $40 for registration. You can complete all three races for $142.
Runners track their own times based on the honor system and submit results on the finisher website, which becomes available when registration opens. Participants receive their medals within 30 days of the completion timeframe.
This year’s celebratory charity is the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida. Runners have the opportunity to make a donation to the Boys & Girls Club during registration, and in addition, runDisney will make an independent contribution to the charity in honor of the Virtual Running Shorts.
Registration for the runDisney Virtual Running Shorts is expected to begin soon. You can find more information on the runDisney website.
