Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” has added its female lead as actress Emily Blunt has signed on to star in the film adaptation of the classic Disney attraction.
Blunt joins Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the film’s stars, while Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows) will direct the highly-anticipated film. Disney plans for the movie to follow the story of the attraction and Johnson even visited the attractions across the Disney parks to prepare for the role.
This will be Blunt’s third role with Disney. She appeared in “Into the Woods” in 2014 and is set to star in “Mary Poppins Returns” as the iconic titular character this December.
No release date has been set for Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” as of yet, but it is currently slated to begin production in May.
