Star Wars-inspired “Opera Wars” from Opera del Sol opens in Orlando this weekend

If you’re looking for some post-Thanksgiving fun in the Orlando area, Opera del Sol is staging an epic Star Wars-inspired opera that promises to be out of this world.

For its first fully staged and scripted production, taking place on November 24 – 25, Opera del Sol presents Opera Wars. The show is set in outer space to some of the opera’s most beloved music and tells a story of love, conflict, and good vs. evil. Created by Opera del Sol’s Founder & Executive Director, Nicole Dupré, “Opera Wars” is opera for the 21st-century audience.

As audiences arrive, Space Cruise Director Leyla Lawrence welcomes them aboard the I.S.S. del Sol. During the Pre-Launch Experience, audiences have the chance to mingle with the Space Crew and enjoy some of the immensely talented performers aboard the ship. In partnership with Farm & Haus, audiences are invited to eat, drink, and take space journey with the crew of the I.S.S. del Sol.

Founded in 2017, Opera del Sol is a new non-profit company in the heart of Central Florida. Their mission is to present timeless classics reimagined along with new operatic gems for the modern audience.

“Opera Wars” is presented at The Abbey in Orlando, Florida, with the following showtimes:

  • Friday, November 24 at 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, November 25 at 1:00 PM
  • Saturday, November 25 at 7:00 PM

Ticket prices are $35 for General Admission and $60 for the Show & Food Experience.
