VIDEO: Rare footage of Disney’s “Lion King” cast offers behind-the-scenes look at ‘Be Prepared’ recording

Journey back to the early 90s to watch the cast of “The Lion King” record an iconic song, thanks to rare footage from Entertainment Weekly.

See Jeremy Irons (Scar) along with Whoopi Goldberg, Cheech Marin, and Jim Cummings (Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed) perform “Be Prepared,” the catchy villain’s anthem from the 1994 film. James Earl Jones, who is reprising his role as Mufasa for the upcoming live-action version of “The Lion King,” also makes an appearance.

As part of the Walt Disney Signature Collection, “The Lion King” will be released digitally on August 15 and arrives on Blu-ray August 29.

The live-action version, directed by Jon Favreau, is scheduled to hit theaters on July 19, 2019.
