It’s hard to believe it’s been thirty-five years since the release of Disney’s original “Tron” movie, which starred Jeff Bridges as computer programmer Kevin Flynn (and his in-game avatar Clu) and Bruce Boxleitner as fellow engineer Alan Bradley (Tron), and was released on July 9th, 1982.
In celebration of this momentous occasion, the El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard has announced a special 35th Anniversary screening of both “Tron” and its 2010 sequel, “Tron Legacy,” as part of its ongoing Throwback Thursday series.
The movies will be presented in 2D, and the $15 admission price includes a souvenir El Capitan popcorn bucket (with popcorn included) and a 20-ounce drink! That’s a pretty great value to experience two terrific Disney sci-fi adventures.
The “Tron” 35th Anniversary double feature screening will take place Thursday, August 10th at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California. Be sure to visit the theater’s official website for more information and ticket sales resources. NOTE: You must call the El Capitan’s ticketing line at 1-800-DISNEY6 for tickets to the double feature. Only tickets to the individual screenings are available on the theater’s website.
End of line.
