While fans wait for the long-awaited “Blade Runner” sequel, several immersive experiences have emerged to build excitement for “Blade Runner 2049.”
Oculus partnered with “Blade Runner” production company Alcon Entertainment to create a series of virtual reality games based on the film. Blade Runner 2049: Replicant Pursuit, a virtual reality game that lets players pilot their own spinners to chase down a rogue Replicant, was recently released for Gear VR. “Blade Runner 2049: Replicant Pursuit” was developed by Turtle Rock Studios. Two more “Blade Runner”-inspired games from different developers will be released in the months leading up to the film’s October 6 theatrical release.
Gear VR is a virtual reality mobile headset that works with compatible Samsung Galaxy devices to create VR experiences at home. Watch a demo of the Gear VR headset in the video below.

During San Diego Comic-Con 2017, Alcon Entertainment also offered an immersive walk-through experience based on “Blade Runner 2049.” Guests were invited to explore an extensive recreation of futuristic Los Angeles featured in both “Blade Runner” films.
