SeaWorld Orlando has officially debuted its new virtual reality version of their classic roller coaster, now called Kraken Unleashed, and we’re giving you virtual seat on this updated attraction to take a thrilling ride at home.
Yesterday, we shared details from SeaWorld’s creative director about how Kraken Unleashed came together. Now, the videos below bring you on board for full rides with and without VR headsets so you can see all the new visuals and see how they enhance the overall experience.

(Note: It’s challenging to sync up the videos perfectly as the ride adjusts the speed of the rendered video in realtime depending on a variety of factors including weight, weather, row, and seat. The rendered version SeaWorld provided us doesn’t 100% match the speed and timing of the real-life POVs, so there are some small inconsistencies while watching the spit-screen and picture-in-picture versions. We tried to match the timing as best as we could by speeding up / slowing down the video. Rest assured, SeaWorld has taken care to ensure that when you are on the actual ride, the VR visuals do sync up perfectly with the ride’s movements.)
Kraken Unleashed is now open at SeaWorld Orlando. Guests can opt to ride with or without wearing VR headsets.
