As a surprise bonus for the summer, a new nighttime projection show emerged this weekend at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park, featuring a montage of classic and contemporary movies from Disney’s rich cinematic history. The show is called Disney Movie Magic and plays nightly, starting 30 minutes before Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Fireworks.

Disney Movie Magic is projected onto the ‘Great Movie Ride’ Chinese Theater facade and includes clips from Disney films along with newly shot material specifically for the show. “Mary Poppins,” “Tron Legacy,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” and “Indiana Jones” are among the films spotlighted in the new 10-minute show.

The show premiered just a few days after the original Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California debuted its own nighttime projection mapped show, entitled “Hollywood Lights – The History of Cinema” – a very similar show that spotlights more than just Disney films.
