Projection mapping is one of the most eye-grabbing recent trends in themed entertainment. From Disney theme parks to the Sak’s Fifth Avenue department store in New York City during Christmastime, the technology is a wonderful, innovative method of utilizing existing structures in new and exciting ways.

This week in Los Angeles, the world-famous TCL Chinese Theatre (formerly Grauman’s Chinese Theatre) launched a new nightly projection-mapped show entitled “Hollywood Lights – The History of Cinema” that wows guests with impressive effects and a thrilling montage of movie clips as they explore the celebrity handprints in the theater’s forecourt.

“Hollywood Lights – The History of Cinema” plays every twenty minutes starting at 8:00 PM and running through midnight at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California.
