It’s almost time for the breakout! We’re just a little over two weeks away from the official grand opening of the new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! attraction, which has completely replaced the dearly departed Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure.
This week the Disneyland Resort took down the construction walls around the former Hollywood Tower Hotel (now the Collector’s Fortress) and revealed the almost fully realized look of the facade for the first Marvel-themed ride in an American Disney theme park.

Some interesting details include the decorative diamond-shaped chandelier hanging just outside the main entrance, the cool light fixtures near the gift shop exit, and the ragged hole torn in the side of the building, where I can only assume Rocket Raccoon escaped from the fortress before coming to park guests for help in rescuing his friends.
Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! opens Saturday, May 27th at Disney California Adventure.
