As many Disney fans know, before Mickey Mouse there was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Walt Disney created the character with his partner Ub Iwerks for Universal Pictures in 1927, and the Disney Company reclaimed the rights to Oswald in 2006. This year it’s the Lucky Rabbit’s 90th birthday, and the D23 Expo is celebrating by giving Oswald his own Fan Lounge at the center of the convention.
The D23 Fan Lounge, open to all guests at the D23 Expo, will be decked out entirely in Oswald-theme decor. Fans will have access to photo opportunities, charging stations, and unique information about D23, Disney’s official fan club.
Also available will be the private D23 Charter Member Lounge, which is only open to guests who joined D23 2009 and have maintained their Gold Membership status since then. Other Gold Member benefits include “priority seating for presentations in Hall D23 and the D23 Expo Arena, a complimentary Expo-exclusive print, and special offers and discounts from Disney partners.”
D23 Expo 2017 will be held July 14th through the 16th at the Anaheim Convention Center, across the street from the Disneyland Resort in Southern California. Be sure to visit the event’s official website for more information and ticketing resources.
