Disney’s huge official fan event D23 Expo 2017 is right around the corner, and that means we’re going to start getting much more information about what exactly attendees can expect to see during the three-day convention in Southern California.
Today D23 Expo announced the lineup for the main presentation hall (“Hall D23”), which includes the biggest showcases that Disney will have to offer during the event. Last time around these exhibitions included some of the most Earth-shattering reveals in the company’s long history, including the announcement of the Star Wars expansions coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World. So these panels are definitely must-see!
Friday, 10:00 AM – The Disney Legends Awards Ceremony – host Bob Iger will honor Carrie Fisher, Clyde “Gerry” Geronimi, Manuel Gonzales, Mark Hamill, Wayne Jackson, Stan Lee, Garry Marshall, Julie Taymor, and Oprah Winfrey.
Friday, 2:30 PM – Walt Disney Animation – Fans will discover what’s on the drawing board for the acclaimed filmmakers at Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios.
Saturday, 10:30 AM – Disney Live-Action, Marvel, and Lucasfilm – As always, attendees will be treated to exclusive footage, special guest appearances, and more!
Saturday, 3:00 PM – Walt Disney Parks and Resorts – Chairman Bob Chapek tells us what’s new and what’s next for resorts around the globe.
Sunday, 1:30 PM and 5:00 PM – A Whole New World of Alan Menken – Menken will perform his own music from such box office hits as Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Enchanted, and Tangled, and share entertaining anecdotes about his unrivaled career during the show.
