If truly free roaming, I’d be worried about maintenance of the items over time since patrons are, shall we say, hard on equipment. If they’re likely to break or steal a cheap pair of 3D glasses, a VR headset seems like a disaster waiting to happen. BUT… of all the parks to try this, I feel like Knotts actually has the best chance of pulling it off, since they’ve been wrangling complicated tech in the hands of patrons for a few years now (thanks to Infected’s various incarnations). It looks like a lot of fun, I just hope they don’t have another batch of self-righteous party-poopers shutting it down like FearVR. I look forward to seeing some footage.
