To help readers decide which flavor to choose, we took a moment to chat with Juliana Vanderlee over at Adagio to ask her what some of the more popular blends might be (there are SOO many to choose from on the site). She advised that aside from the fan-inspired blends, Adagio tea aficionados enjoy the following flavors the most: Irish breakfast, earl grey bravo, peach black tea, jasmine silver needle, jasmine phoenix pearls, blood orange herbal, and rooibos vanilla (in the non-fandom realm). From their fan-inspired blends, there were three collections that stood out:
It’s elementary that the British love their tea and we love their TV shows. So it comes as no surprise that the three most popular fan-created series of tea flavors are inspired by popular British fiction and television. The first of these blends is “sherlock.” We’ll try to take the mystery out of what’s included in this collection by listing the facts here: Greg Lestrade, Mrs. Hudson, Mycroft Blend (VERY popular), Sherlock Blend, Watson Blend, #BeliveInSherlock, 221 Tea, Anderson Blend, Baker Street Babes, Billy Wiggins, Did you miss me?, Dimmock, Donovan Blend, Golly, Henry Knight, I am Sherlocked, IOU A Brew, Mary Morstan, Mind Place, MoraMori, Moriarty Blend, Not Dead, Red Beard, Red Pants, Reichenbach Recovery, Reichenbach Reunion, Science of Destruction, Sherlock’s Experiment, Skin of Stripes, Stag Night Recovery, The Badge and The Gun, The Colonel, The Consultants, The Government & The Inspector, The Mind and the Heart, The Office Romance, The Woman, and Watson’s Mustache.
Since we’ve decided to add a British accent, perhaps a bit of time travel is a possibility these Doctor Who Inspired fan blends. With more variety than chameleon circuit, these selections are sure to please any Time Lord and/or companion. Amy Pond, Eleven, Nine, River Song, Rory Williams Pond, Ten, Captain Jack Harkness, Farewell Ponds, Martha Jones, Rose Tyler, Donna Noble and the T.A.R.D.I.S. all have flavors that they’ve inspired.
Or perhaps a return to potions class is in order? Wizards AND Muggles are sure to find a favorite flavor with selections like Butter Beer, Draught of Peace, Felix Felicis, Polyjuice, Pumpkin Potion, Veritaserum, Amortentia, Elixir of Life, Grudyroot Tea, Mandrake Restorative Draught, Skele-Grow and Treacle Tart!
There are literally hundreds of fan inspired blends to chose from – see the various fan inspired collections listed here.
