In recent weeks Walt Disney World has been testing a lot of new interactive features in some of their attractions including Rock ‘n’ roller Coaster. The testing is a part of MyMagic+ and is connected to guests wearing their MagicBands. We have previously seen testing first being done at Magic Kingdom at the It’s A Small World ride and now it’s Haunted Mansion‘s turn.
At the popular end of the ride “where a ghost follows you home” a couple of new scenes have been added that work together with your MagicBand. One scenes shows the ghosts taking an old school picture of you and then your name shows up on a tombstone. In the second scene I experienced a ghost holding up a document with my home state written on it. Both scenes are incredibly clear and worked like a charm to the delight of both me and the many guests around me.
This is probably just a small sample of the interactive elements the MagicBands will have in the future and will surely be a great addition to the parks.
No word has been given by Disney how long this test will go on and therefore we have no guarantee it will be working when you experience the ride.
