We were planning on a trip to Disney World and always take advantage of the free dining offer. We find it to be a great savings and well worth it. However, it is my understanding that for 2016 you must purchase a park hopper option in order to receive free dining. We NEVER purchase the park hopper offer option for a few reasons, the first being it’s too expensive and we prefer to stay in one park all day anyway. Why does Disney make it increasingly difficult for families to take their children to WDW? In my opinion, they are just trying to push the middle class out. Well, they’re doing a great job so far, we are OUT!!!

I purchased the above back in March and was told I would receive the free dining Well guess what I didn’t They tell me it was sold out before 7 am on the day it was released. I have been planning this trip for myself and my special needs son for over 2 years. the thought of finally being able to afford it with the free dining made it worthwhile. Yesterday I was informed it was only for the folks who booked the day it was offered. What a joke. Yet my friends go every year and get this. what gives. and I was also told that they could not even give me a room discount since I was not eligible for the free dining. Why bother booking ahead. Rethinking maybe I should do my vacation elsewhere. I know It will be the last vacation he will ever take and not sure how I can break it to him that we may not be going. Seems if you have tons of dollars you get everything for nothing. Heck with the folks who work 2 jobs and save for 2 years, Without airfare my cost is over 3000.00 just to stay at the cheapest resort.

You can also use the waterparks and more option instead of the park hopper to meet the requirement. Its also less expensive.

Barbara I am sorry you had that trouble. Check the special offers again there are definitely still room discounts available. To get the free dining you often have to get up early and add it the day it is released. I was up at 4 am to add it to my existing reservation. Another way to save is to use the Target RedCard to buy Disney giftcards. You still get the 5% discount. so on a $3000 budget you would save $150. But check back on the free dining. As of 4/30 there is new availability that wasn’t there a few days ago.
