Why?!?!?! From the studio who brought you Mary Poppins, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Tron, and Pirates of the Caribbean comes: another re-make of an animated film. At least ten of these remakes/reboots are in the works and an its a small world movie is on the way too? Can’t they just leave their first movie alone and let it stand as a masterpiece that beat all the odds? No, of course not. This is what reeeeeeeeeeally happened. Sorry for the rant, but with the remakes of Pinocchio, Dumbo, Cinderella, Alice, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, Jungle Book, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Mulan, it seems like sad waste of both time and talent.

    Because
    A) Somebody got confused about Grimm’s “Snow White & Rose Red”, and thought it was the same Snow (it isn’t),
    B) Disney got jealous about all the fangirls who thought “Snow White & the Huntsman” was a Disney film “from the people who brought you, oo, Maleficent!” (it wasn’t), and wanted to snap up the screenwriter ahead of his spinoff Huntsman sequel,
    C) Snow White on Once Upon a Time is more popular with their TV audience than crabby-whatsher-name who used to be the main character
    D) The Fairytale Fangirl audience has an obsession with Snow White (the Twilight Red Riding Hood movie didn’t do so well), but only as far as sleeping in glass coffins and being awoken by princes–The sweeping floors with birds and squirrels, nnnnot so much. So now there’s an entire COTTAGE INDUSTRY (NPI) in fangirl adventures about Snow White, Bandit of the Forest. And, apparently, her presumed relatives as well .
(Even if they fail paternity tests, seeing as our Snow’s mom only had one child before kicking the bucket, and sticking her with a dysfunctional caregiver.)

And yes, you -should- be sorry for the rant, a little homework will fix any “why??” complaint on the Internet. 😉
