D23 celebrates Alice in Wonderland’s 65th anniversary with special screening at AMC Disney Springs

D23 will be celebrating 65 years of “Alice in Wonderland”, as well as the upcoming release of the live-action movie “Alice Through the Looking Glass”, with a special event at the AMC Disney Springs 23 theater on Saturday, March 19.

The official Disney fan club will have a behind-the-scenes presentation with Disney Archives head of research Steven Vagnini followed by a screening of the original 1951 classic “Alice in Wonderland””.

D23’s Steven Vagnini will kick off the event with a look back at the development of the 1951 animated classic using rare, archival photography and footage. The presentation will offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the Disney Studio’s efforts to bring Lewis Carroll’s classic story to the big screen, while also highlighting additional and imaginative ways Wonderland has been depicted in other Disney productions. Plus, learn the history behind the classic Fantasyland dark ride attraction that opened at Disneyland in 1958!

Tickets for the event are exclusively available to D23 Gold Members for $25 (plus $5 processing fee) and will go on sale on Tuesday, February 2 at 1:00pm (EST). An exclusive gift is also included.

The event begins at 10:00am with check-in starting at 9:00am.
