Comments for Reservations now open for ‘Paint the Night’ Parade dining packages at Disneyland

I did this for Fantasmic! back on Dec. 4 at Disneyland at Aladdin’s Oasis. The food was VERY good (my family had each one of the adult options…all were very pleased with the meal).

One thing to watch out for is the viewing area that you get with these packages may not be very good at all. Our reserved tickets (fastpasses) to Fantasmic! were way off to the side and behind multiple trees so we did not get a good spot to watch the show. My family had never seen the show before, so I was disappointing about the poor viewing area.

That may be different for Paint the Night, but just FYI to all those thinking about getting these dining packages. They can be quite expensive.

Agreed the food was great but the seat were horrible and still had to wait in a long line not worth it

Same for us. Food was fine but view was horrible. I was looking at the Pirate Island sign the whole time. We had to crouch down underneath the sign to see the show. First time I ever called Disneyland to complain. Kind of sad as we had friends visiting the park for their first time. Was hoping they would comp us a better view in future visit but that did not happen. Oh well, other than that the trip was amazing as always.

We’re booked for the PTN Dining Package for Monday, January 11th at Blue Bayou…the 1st night it debuts. We were told that the “special viewing area” for Blue Bayou is in the area around the Walt & Mickey statue. The fireworks show almost immediately follows and we were told that we could remain in the round for the fireworks show as well.

I’ve booked the PTN BB package in mid-February; am taking 4 newbies, including kids, for their first visit and didn’t want to spend hours holding parade spots. But, I would love to hear back about your experience so we know whether saving spots along the curb somewhere would be worth the time. Sometimes reserved seats are just that, with the view questionable especially for younger kids. Please let us know how it goes!

        I definitely will!

How was the parade viewing? Hope you had a lovely trip!

Candice, did they tell you what the price range is? We have 8 people so I’m wondering how expensive it would be. Thanks

How was it? i have reservations for the 28th and am curious?

I just got off the phone with Disneyland Dining. The Aladdin’s Oasis package is $22.99 per adult and includes a “trayed” meal and drink. The meal at the Blue Bayou is $62 per adult and includes choice of soup/salad/shrimp cocktail, any entree on the menu, a dessert (from an assortment), and a a drink. Prices do not include tax or gratuity.

Did they indicate where the preferred seating would be for the packages? Or do you have any information on that.

We went ahead and splurged on this for a birthday celebration on 2/18/2016. While the Blue Bayou food was excellent (several of us had either filet or the strip steak and they were done perfectly – which I know isn’t always the case, per various forums), the ‘reserved seating’ wasn’t really worth it. They allowed us into the reserved area an hour early so we could be sure the kids could sit on the curb with us standing immediately behind them. (If you show up at 8:30 per the fastpass instructions, there will be no curb space left.) However, at an hour early there was still curb space left along main street outside the reserved area – making the ‘Reserved for Blue Bayou Dining’ area moot. The reserved area starts right in front of the Carnation Cafe and heads down toward the CRYSTAL Arcade, not the Penny Arcade, in front of the Fortuosity Shop. We moved into the street and up toward the hub to stand in front of the Penny Arcade for the fireworks, which WAS a great view, but would have been available to us anyway. I suppose, theoretically, the PTN package might be more worthwhile on super crowded days when all the curb space is gone by 2 hours out, but for our moderate crowd day it was sort of silly. Oh well. Still a great meal.
