Osborne Dancing Lights

With the news last month that Walt Disney World will be discontinuing the popular Christmas-themed “The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights” presentation located at Hollywood Studios this year, guests will have a few extra days to get to the park early to enjoy it one last time.

Though the official dates for it were previously announced as starting on November 6 and running until January 3 2016, there will be an “early peek” beginning on November 1 and extending through November 5 for all guests at Hollywood Studios.

The annual event is coming to a close after 20 years to make room for an aggressive expansion of Hollywood Studios, which has seen several attractions closed this year for the same reason.

“In order to prepare for some incredible experiences coming to the park, including the recently announced Toy Story Land and a Star Wars-themed land, we will not be able to present The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights in the future,” said the company in a post on their Disney Parks Blog announcing the decision.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, a Disney spokesperson stated the company had not decided at the time of the announcement what they would be doing with the lights — so there is still a slight chance it may be moved to another location.

Late last month, workers had already began setting up the lights at the Streets of America.
