Universal Orlando today officially announced they are adding another park to their popular resort. Volcano Bay is the name of Universal Orlando’s new water park, set to open in 2017.
Already under construction clearly visible from I-4 near the Cabana Bay hotel, Volcano Bay joins Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure to make Universal Orlando a 3-park destination.
Universal claims Volcano bay “reimagines what it means to be a water park.”
Volcano Bay will feature unique attractions and places for relaxation amidst a theme of tropical islands.
No further details or specific attractions have been revealed about Volcano Bay, though a closer look at the artwork reveals beaches, observation areas, and plenty of slides – including one tube that shoots right through the giant volcano:
Universal Orlando also owns nearby Wet ‘n’ Wild Orlando, the future of which has yet to be revealed.
