ScareLA convention to bring the horror back to Hollywood in August, tickets now on sale

Halloween fans in Southern California must mark their calendars for the return of ScareLA, a new convention celebrating haunted attractions.

Last year’s debut event overlapped with Disney’s D23 Expo, making it impossible for theme park junkees to see both. Yet it still managed to attract more than 4,000 passionate Halloween fans, professionals and members of the media.

This year ScareLA stands on its own, bringing even more eerie entertainment to downtown Los Angeles on August 9 and 10, 2014 at The Reef (formerly known as LA Mart).

The event celebrates the West Coast’s Halloween, haunt, and horror community and fans with exclusive presentations, industry panels, hands-on workshops, onsite attractions and an exhibitor show floor.

The convention’s lineup of presentations will feature sneak previews and behind-the-scenes looks at the most anticipated Halloween events in the region including Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights, Knott’s Halloween Haunt, Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, The Great Horror Campout, The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor and more than 30 of the top scare attractions in the Southwest.

Fans gather to watch a panel discussion at Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights, soaking in the electric atmosphere that's just as thrilling and energetic as any major horror fan event like ScareLA in Hollywood.

In addition, ScareLA focuses on engaging attendees with interactive and educational experiences with the nation’s best haunt and horror professionals and artists in hands-on workshops, demonstrations and classes including make-up, costuming, pumpkin carving, and Halloween party tips.

ScareLA guests get into the Halloween spirit, with one attendee dressed as "MISS SCARE LA" in striking blue zombie makeup, posing for a fun convention photo amid Hollywood's lively horror celebration.

Glowing jack-o’-lanterns illuminate a rustic table beneath the “Jack's Carving Shack” marquee, creating a spooktacular ambiance reminiscent of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios.

A performer in an elaborate horror-themed costume captivates the audience with a dynamic dance routine onstage at ScareLA, Hollywood’s premier horror convention.

A terrifying, ghostly figure with a wide-open scream and arms outstretched haunts the scene in front of a bookshelf and gravestone, creating an immersive fright reminiscent of Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights or Knott's Scary Farm.
