Very impressive–But before we get into whole discussions of “Disney’s Potter-Swatter”, let’s just remember that with Springfield and Diagon Alley, what we’ve essentially gotten from Universal have been amazingly designed exterior immersive set pieces for shops, restaurants, and ONE ride.
If that sounds familiar…how about Disney’s original Califonia Adventure? 😉
Kang & Kodos Twirl and Hurl, Gringott’s Bank and Hogswart Express…. I count 3 new rides. No need to knock on Universal as a Disney fan.. this is a win for all theme park fans.
I’m expecting that I’ll absolutely love it once I see it myself, but I’m ever so slightly disappointed that you can see the dragon all the time, it kind of eliminates the feeling that you’re in Diagon Alley on a normal day.
Truth be told, I was praying that he’d only be visible from the exit of the Gringotts ride, and then from Hogsmeade so that I could act like he escaped from Dragon Challenge at the same time.
But he does look AMAZING.
I agree, although they did place trees to kind of cover the warehouse holding the attraction. But like the current Harry Potter, the warehouse that holds Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey, the warehouse can still be seen when you look up in the greenhouse queue.

It’s a shame that behind the dragon there is that big beige warehouse. Universal has never been good at hiding its show buildings.
