Walt Disney World announces Cinderella Castle plaza expansion with new gardens, more fireworks viewing at Magic Kingdom

Guests stroll through vibrant park pathways lined with colorful flowerbeds, lush trees, and classic lampposts beneath a partly cloudy sky, capturing the magical vibe of the newly expanded plaza near Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.

More room to spread out is coming to the Magic Kingdom. Walt Disney World has announced plans to expand the Hub and Central Plaza area of the park in front of Cinderella Castle.

Included in the expanded plaza will be new circular pathways, gardens, more restaurant seating, and new fireworks and parade viewing areas – perfect to integrate with the FastPass+ system. Disney has released a rendering of what the area will look like when complete in 2015:

Seating outside Casey’s Corner and The Plaza restaurant are said to almost double, adding to the new seating recently installed inside Casey’s:

Guests relax and chat at cozy tables inside a lively restaurant with red and white chairs, just steps from Magic Kingdom’s thrilling atmosphere. The newly expanded Cinderella Castle plaza sparkles nearby, adding even more wonder to your Walt Disney World adventure.

The Hub expansion project will occur in multiple phases, little by little over the next year or so.
