Walt Disney Animation Studios has released online the standout sequence from the film “Frozen” featuring the instant hit song “Let It Go” as performed by Idina Menzel voicing Elsa, whose secret powers have just been revealed, creating a breathtaking ice palace.

But there are two versions of this song and sequence. One is the relatively simple, largely piano-driven musical arrangement as heard in the film and the clip above. The other is a far more orchestral rendition as heard in World of Color – Winter Dreams at Disney California Adventure, seen in the video below from its debut night.

Which do you prefer?

Idina Menzel also performed (and premiered) the song during the 2013 D23 Expo:

“Let It Go” is an original song by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Tony Award-winner Robert Lopez.

I’m so glad they released this. Every time I see / hear it I get goosebumps. It ia the same impact I get when I hear Defying Gravity.

I feel that the overall impact (emotionally and visually) is stronger in the film version while the WOC version still gets the message across.
