I feel so old. I have no affinity for any of these characters. I liked the movie Hop but it’s an Easter movie, so it’s weird seeing them in a parade. I am just a little too old for Spongebob or Dora to have ever been a part of my life. I have never seen Despicable Me. Parades should keep moving so that everyone can see things well.

It is a good attempt at a first parade by Universal but I can’t help but notice that the parade designers borrowed a number of elements from Mickey’s Soundsational Parade and Pixar Play Parade both at the Disneyland Resort. I guess it is true when they say imitation is the best form of flattery. Well, congrats Universal on a good first showing of your parade. Maybe this will get WDW to finally be motivated to pay for a new parade in the MK.

I definitely thought of Soundsational when the drummers came down the street.

I think it would have been better w/o Despicable Me and Hop- as these were not as popular as Universal makes them out to be. Also Dora and Diego should not have been used as they aren’t popular anymore….

Despicable Me is surprisingly popular, but for me SpongeBob and pals are the only stars of this Superstar Parade.

Despicable Me made over 500 million dollars worldwide and the Minions are incredibly popular.
