Universal Orlando has set a joint grand opening date for its two newest guest experiences. On May 8, 2012, the new Superstar Parade and Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular: 100 Years of Movie Memories will each make their grand debut.
Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular: 100 Years of Movie Memories will present more than 200 classic films in a lagoon show filled with projections, lighting, sound and special effects, all including roughly 300 Academy Award nominations and 100 Academy Award winners. The show is narrated by Morgan Freeman and will feature waterfall screens, colorful, animated fountains, and fireworks.
Universal’s Superstar Parade will feature all-new floats featuring characters from Despicable Me, E.B. from “Hop,” Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora & Diego. Character meet-and-greets will also be available prior to the parade at select locations throughout each day.
Continuing their “Year to Be Here,” the date to “be there” will be May 8, 2012, as Universal grand opens its two newest attractions.
