Behind what seems like miles of construction walls at the Disneyland Resort exists the fictional town of Radiator Springs, now created in extreme detail by Walt Disney Imagineers as part of Cars Land, announced today to open on June 15, 2012. When it debuts this summer, the massive Disney California Adventure theme park expansion will feature three new rides and several shops and dining opportunities among other experiences for fans of Disney/Pixar’s “Cars” film franchise to become immersed in.
Though the opening is still roughly three months away, today Disney has offered a first look behind those construction walls at recent testing of the iconic E-ticket attraction being build in Cars Land: Radiator Springs Racers. When open, it will give guests a chance to “race” side-by-side while sitting in smiling ride vehicles (each with its own unique facial expression) around the impressive Cadillac Mountain Range. Watch the video below to see the race take shape, along with further testing of Luigi’s Flying Tires and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, two more of Cars Land’s attractions.

Cars Land and all its attractions will officially open to the public on June 15, 2012, though the entire Disney California Adventure theme park will close for one day on June 14 for a media preview of the new additions.
