As a Rollercoaster Tycoon fan from the beginning, I am a bit disappointed that they decided to bring back RCT in this fashion. Considering that I bought the games mainly for the sand box mode to create highly themed theme parks(haha), I find it hard to believe that they could fit as much customization as previous entries in the series.

Designing theme parks in RCT3 already took its toll on my computer, causing me to upgrade various hardware just to keep up with the size of my parks with an acceptable frame rate. I highly doubt that the 3DS will be close to that level of detail. It would probably be more like RCT1/2 without the isometric view.

Hopefully this will pave the way for the real Rollercoaster Tycoon 4.

  2. I’m excited to have a portable RCT3 since I’ve been playing this game for years with no end in sight. It may not be as detailed as the PC game but the game has been out for many years. Who knows what they could pull off on the 3DS. I will most likely be buying it.

Also, the sales of this game could dictate whether RCT4 gets released. Why spend tons of money developing a sequel to a game nobody wants?

Once again PC users, upon whom the named game series made its founding and fortunes, are getting pissed on again in favor of a toy system.
