Both Howl-O-Scream and Halloween Horror Nights have houses titled “Nevermore” and use the works of Edgar Allen Poe? Interestingly coincidental. I’m looking forward to heading up to Tampa and Orlando from Miami this October to check them out.
Plus, Howl-O-Scream’s overall theme is an evil garden, much like one of Horror Nights’ scare zones. And Howl-O-Scream features a vampire haunted house set in Las Vegas, quite similar to the overall theme of Horror Nights this year.
Universal Theme Parks and Busch Gardens theme parks were owned by Blackstone Group until very recently. It makes perfect sense that they would share ideas throughout the year while planning for these events.
The vampire thing is something you cant use to say Howloscream copied because they did vampires last year as the entire theme…last year or the one before. So that doesnt work as a coinvidence.
Can someone tell me what both events are doing that makes them a little more competitve this year? It seems to me that theyre copying off of eachother with scarezones and houses, including using the parks overall theme as a house and scarezone for their own event and etc. It’s quite interesting! 🙂
There are certainly more similarities than usual this time around, but neither party is saying how/why. Instead, the official line seems to be “great minds think alike.” It’s obviously more than a coincidence but in the end, perhaps it will drive fans to see both, just to compare.

It’s not a coincidence in the least.
