I love the projections but I hate the guest pictures in it. It makes it tacky and cheap. A more story driven projecten with all the awesome effects would be perfect but please let them loose the guest pictures!
I agree…it is a wonderfully awe insipiring show but would definitely be better with out guest photos.
Is that projection screen going to remain up, or do they take it down during the day?
I cant even begin to describe how awesome that looks. I am speechless.
I’ll be there next wek so I’m curious to see this.
I’m wondering about a couple of things though. Is there anything being also projected onto the back of the castle or do you have to be on Main Street? Also, does this mean that there are no fireworks?
It is only on the front of the castle. The Wishes fireworks show takes place shortly after this show.
As always the Mouse adds that extra little bit of magic – from the precise angle of the fireworls to the projected image to the exact mapping of the near 3D image to the castle. – Fast paced, magical and brilliant. I suspect inspiration came from the sound and light shows at the Chateau of Chambord and Azay Le Rideau in the Loire Valley in France where they have been using this technique for several years.
Hey ricky thanks so much!! at 3:45 those are my parents from the DCL footage we submitted!! (they are also the people hugging in your still) we nearly fell off our chair when we watched it!! Thank you!
That’s fantastic! Congrats. I wonder if anyone who is featured in a smaller image or picture high up on a castle turret will even be able to notice their photo. Your parents’ image was big and clear, but others may not be so lucky.
i have to admit the show kind of sucks. But I love some of the effects they use. some of the are more amazing than words can describe while others……. I am sooooooo excited to see if they incorporate these projectors into the halloween party. they better!!! I would be really happy if they did.
Wow, Disney always thinks of something new and amazing to do! I have a couple questions however: Are the pictures that are displayed on the castle only the pictures that are taken by Photopass castmembers for that day? Or, are they personal pictures by the guests via the Disney Memories website?
Roughly 500 photos are chosen from the thousands of PhotoPass pictures taken each day. It’s a bonus for those who are in the park.
im planingg a trip to disney land soooo what should i expect in january?i missed chrismass time so i was wondering do they do this in january or is it in walt disney world or disneyland
The show will continue, but without the recent Christmas additions.
