You guys got some really cool stuff. I’ve had chocolate frogs before, but they weren’t packaged like those, and the cards inside were different. I have my eye on the stuffed Fawkes. I must have that!

    1. Ricky Brigante

These cards are special as well, as they feature the founders of the four Hogwarts houses. These characters are new to the Wizarding World.

  2. Gem

Thank you so much for the pictures and videos you’ve so kindly posted. Could you possibly provide a price list for the items you purchased? We are going soon, my son is a HP fantatic and I would like to know how much all this merch is going to cost us.
    Thank you!

      1. Alan

Is that a listing of all the items they sell, or all the items you bought?

        1. Carla

That’s just what they bought yesterday. 🙂 There is a LOT more stuff available!

          1. Michelle Moss

Yes, that’s what we bought the first day. I got a couple of more items. And those are the regular prices so no I didn’t mark them up any 🙂

          2. Michelle Moss

The wands went up in price. They were $24.95 for the character wands and now they’re $28.95!

      2. Ann

Thanks for all the awesome info! What are the wands made of ? are they wooden, metal,or plastic? If they’re plastic I don’t think I want to spend thirty dollars on them so I hope they’re not :/

        1. Ricky Brigante

They’re definitely not plastic. They appear to be metal at their core with additional resin features for the detailing. They’re clearly painted as well. The wands are very strong and don’t feel cheap.

          1. Ann

Okay thank you so much 🙂

  3. Gem

Thank you so much. I best get saving! haha

  4. Jake AU

Fantastic Merch! Eyes on the sneakoscope :P. What does it do , out of interest?

    1. Michelle Moss

It’s basically a top with lights. I returned it. It was dumb and it scratched up my wood floor!

      1. Frog

That is probably, so far, my only complaint… Of course I haven’t gone yet, but I am going to say that they could have made the sneakoscope a much funner interactive product… Oh well…

  5. Marisa

Could you post a picture of the back of the cap? Otherwise, awesome pics and great update!

    1. Michelle Moss

There is nothing on the back of the cap. It’s just red.

  6. Michelle Moss

The Sneakoscope is a piece of crap! It’s basically a light up top and it didn’t work. Plus, it has metal on the bottom of it and Ricky scraped up my wood floor. It’s getting returned!

    1. Frog

Aww.. I was looking forward to the sneakoscope… OH well, sometimes you get crudy items at theme parks…

    2. Holly

Oh no, really? Would it at least make a nice display item? D:

      1. Michelle Moss

It really isn’t anything special. You’re better off getting a golden snitch if you want to display something.

  7. Ashley

are there olivander’s originals that you can purchase if you aren’t chosen to try them out in the store?

    1. Ricky Brigante

Yes there are character wands and others as well.

  8. Wesley

You’re very lucky. Wish I could go.
    Really cool stuff.
Could you upload here or send me more pictures of the Quibbler please?
Is that a complete magazine or only the cover?
Does the chocolate frog card have a descriptio of the wizard behind it?

    1. Michelle Moss

It was only the cover. You could remove the glasses though. I’m wondering if they’ll actually sell a quibbler. Who knows 🙂

    2. Michelle Moss

I totally forgot to respond to you question about the Wizard Card that comes with the chocolate frog. Yes, it does have a description on the back telling about the wizards.

  9. Andy Martin

Wow, awesome selection of swag there guys!
I have a couple of questions, I wonder if you could answer?:
    1) What exactly do the Quibbler Spectaspecs do?
    2) Did you happen to come across the price of house scarves?
    3) So personal wands are $28.95?
    4) Can you get an annual pass discount on all this great stuff?
Thanks very much in advance 😀 Keep up the great work with the podcast the site and everything else 🙂
    Andy x

    1. Frog

I’ve been looking at the pictures, and to me, it looks like the spectrespecs are just 3D glasses that allow you to read the “magical” edition of the quibbler… And personal wand prices range from 25-30 dollars… And I don’t think they give you a discount on merchandise for the annual pass, although you’d have to check with a Universal rep or someone like that…

      1. Andy Martin

        Thanks for the response 🙂

Do you know what the deal with Ollivanders is? If you aren’t one of the lucky chosen ones to get to try out a wand during the show, is there any way to match up with “your” wand? Or is it simply a case of browsing through shelves of wands and just choosing one randomly?

        1. Michelle Moss

The do have a section of wands that are Ollivander’s wands and are specific to your birthday. A “wizard” stands by those wands and they’ll ask you your birthday and give you the wand that is for you 🙂

      2. Michelle Moss

You don’t get an annual pass discount on HP merchandise but you do get 10% off if you have a AAA card.

        1. Chris

re: AAA Discount: Are you sure because thats awesome. So you can show your AAA card in all the shops to get a 10% discount??

          1. Ricky Brigante

Yes, you definitely get a 10% discount for showing your AAA card.

    2. Michelle Moss

      1. I’m not sure what the Quibbler Spectraspecs do because I didn’t really examine it thoroughly yet. And I’m not going to open it.

      2. They had all of the house scarves for sale.

      3. Yes, the wands are about $30, tax of course.

      4. No, you do not get an annual pass discount on Harry Potter merchandise, but you do get 10% off everything if you have a AAA membership.

  10. McKenna

I saw Emma Watson wearing a house sweater in the promotional video that is now on the park website. Do y’all know how much those sweaters are? Thank you!

    1. Michelle Moss

I honestly didn’t look at the price of the sweaters. I don’t wear sweaters since it never really gets cold enough here. However, the shirts are at least $25 and I got one shirt that was nearly $40 so I would say definitely no cheaper than that. Sorry I can’t be more help. If I run across them when I go back on Monday I’ll try and check.

      1. McKenna

Thank you! I would really appreciate it. We’re going in a couple weeks and I’m trying to budget for myself and give my friends an idea of how much they need to give me for stuff they want.

    2. Michelle Moss

I looked at the sweaters for you. They are girl sizes only. I can only imagine that she had on an XL. They were about $45.

      1. McKenna

        Thank you!

  11. Holly

Oh my God, I need that Fawkes plush right now. Wonder if I can find someone to do a shopping service for me, since I won’t be able to visit the park for YEARS…

Man, if anyone could ever do a SS for me, shoot me an email at jefford2@uwm.edu.

    1. Holly,

Can’t do a SS (shopping Service) for you…we live way u pin MAine. too far away, but you might want to call Universal orlando Resort and ask if they have catalogues, or might be coming out with in the future, so you can order some of the park merchandise.

A few years ago we did that at Sea World, and WE ENDED UP ORDERING SOME pretty nice books from the Educational Department ABOUT ALL THE AQUATIC LIFE.

Hope that helps! One can only carry so much “home” on an airplane!

      1. Michelle Moss

I did ask if there was going to be any way people could purchase the stuff outside of the parks (catalog) and they said no because it’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter exclusive.

        1. Holly

What a shame. A few items have popped up on eBay at ridiculous prices. I don’t know if maybe they’re special promo items, but the Olivanders wand is over $70, as is a pack of 4 iron on patches! Over $70! REALLY?! Give me a break. Guess I’ll have to hunt for a shopping service. They’re so popular for Disneyworld…hopefully I’ll find one for Universal.

          1. Yeah! You have to watch them (Ebay, I mean). Sometimes the people selling on there are reasonable, but other times they are downright greedy. CHeck Amazon too, WB shops, Alivan’s and Mystic Unicorn on line in case you miss something while at Wizarding World on an annual vacation.

    2. Michael

If you know anyone flying in or out of Orlando International Airport (MCO), both Universal Stores have the Fawkes plush!

      1. Holly

Oh, I wish I did! ;_; Sadly I have no friends who live near Universal.

  12. To “Mrs Ricky Brigante” (Michelle),

Thanks for putting the Wizarding World merchandise in pictures for us all to see, and providing us with a price list too.

We’ve already “made our Wizarding World shopping list” for our July visit…trying to select that which we could carry back to Maine on the ariplane. Guess the rule will be “pack little so we can bring back some”!
Our son , the ship engineer flew home to Maine in the middle of the winter with a practically empty bag, so he could bring his X-mas gifts on the plane back to the ship, and WORE 5 of the shirts aboard the plane so his luggage wouldn’t be “too heavy” or bulky. (nothing like dressing in “layers” during January in Maine!”)

Maybe we weho visit the Wizarding World in the future will have to think up some type of strategy similar to that! After all, there’s only so much you can carry or check in on an airplane!

By the way, are the souvenir Butter Beer mugs glass or heavy plastic?

Thanks again for all the time you both have put into your reports!! We look forward to more to come!

    Glenda

    1. Michelle Moss

The butterbeer mugs are heavy plastic. I need to ask them if they’re dishwasher safe since we can take them into the parks and get them refilled at a cheaper price.

One strategy I would recommend is shipping some of the stuff home. There will be a lot of things that you’ll want that are not fragile so you can just mail them home. That’s what I’d do 🙂

      1. Michelle Moss

They’re not dishwasher safe. It did say it on the mug in tiny letters 🙁

  13. Elizabeth

I’m curious as to if they will be selling Harry Potter wristwatches. Any idea?

    Thanks!

    1. Michelle Moss

There were no watches or jewelry of any sort there. That’s not to say that they won’t have any in the future.

  14. Andrew

Did you happen to see the prices on robes?

    1. Michelle Moss

The robes are about $100 each.

  15. rodrigo

hello i will be traveling on july 13th and the 14th. I like the idea of the birthday wand. do you think if i spend time in this park one day from 9am until 8pm (they close at that time i think) will be enough for all the rides, the castle, all the stores ect?.. i really plan to buy all on your list and maybe more, around 3000 dls in merchandise, i am crazy, but i love hp. If i have time i will really love to come back next day and be at seuss, and marvel land doing some rides and shopes and in the afternoon (4pm) comeback to the harry potter land. The next 2 days i will be at disney shooping but i really want to experience first the potter magic. SO do you think with 3000 dls will be enough for 2 days at potter land?
how much is the voldemort doll?
and the shirt of azkaban how much?
will they allow everybody to take pics and video inside the stores?

i love you videos and will love a answer to all my question please….

    rodrigo gutierrez

    1. Michelle Moss

I don’t know how much exactly the Voldermort doll is but the other dolls/plushes are $25-$30 so I’d say probably around that price. The shirts are $20-$30 unless it’s something really fancy like my sequins shirt. And yes, anyone can take videos/pictures. $3000 should be enough. The brooms are around $300, and I think there was one that was even more than that. And they have a Lucious Malfoy Walking stick for $100. A lot of stuff sold out so make sure you get there early in the day and then have them send all of your stuff to your hotel if you’re staying on property. That stuff gets heavy really fast 🙂

    2. Michelle Moss

The Voldemort doll was in fact $25.

  16. Andrew

One other question. Are the character wands you bought supplied from Noble Collection?

    1. Michelle Moss

I don’t know what you mean by Noble Collection. It didn’t say Noble Collection anywhere on the box.

    2. Frog

Yes, I read in an article that the character wands from the Noble Collection are there too…

  17. James

Did you buy all of that merchandise and then call up Central Florida News 13, hoping that they would come over and do an interview with you?

Or did you buy all of that merchandise, which Central Florida News 13 then saw online, and they invited themselves over to do an interview?

    1. Ricky Brigante

They contacted me first. They messaged me on Twitter after they saw that we had been inside the Wizarding World. They asked if they could talk to me about the experience. Upon arriving to my house, they saw all of the Potter merchandise we had purchased and decided to incorporate it into their piece.

      1. James

        Ok, thanks for answering.

One more question, if I may. Do you guys normally spend $500+ on merchandise when you’re at theme parks, or was this a special occasion? Most people are happy to leave with just one or two $20 items. But you two literally bought the whole shop!

        1. Andrew

I’m pretty sure they don’t do this at every park. Who would? I’m thinking they are just huge fans and planned to spend a lot of money on something they love. Just as I will.

        2. Holly

Er…why do you feel you need info on their buying habits? Your question kind of comes off as rude. Who cares what “most people” do?

        3. Jackie

People can buy whatever they want. Personally, I have spent thousands on merchandise for my favorite band. It’s the same thing here. I’m pretty sure they are HUGE Harry Potter fans.

  18. Amanda

    Hi there 🙂

My sis is going up to see The Wizarding World of Harry Potter the first weekend it pens and asked me about souvenirs I’d like.

The only souvenir i really would want would be a Time Turner.

Did you happen to see one? if so, what price?

    1. Michelle Moss

They do not have the time turners 🙁 They had one displayed as a prop but not for sale. I think they’ll have to get them in the future.

      1. Michelle Moss

I asked them again about the Time Turners. The one displayed in the window was the one actually worn by Emma Watson in the movie. They told me that they have no plans on getting time turners in 🙁

        1. Rina

Someone on Orlando United claimed to have seen three different versions of time turners…But who knows! Hope they get them in…they are so rad.

  19. Shelby

    Hello!
I am going to be visiting the park in lat July.
My favorite has always been Fawkes and Buckbeak…did the plushies look
    of good quality?
Out of all that you bought, what was the best of quality and worth the money?

    Thank you so much!

    1. Michelle Moss

The plushes are very very good quality and extremely soft. You won’t be disappointed. I promise 😉

  20. devon

what are those things in the 6th photo? under the gryffindor neck thing?

    1. Michelle Moss

They are seals for each of the houses and sticks of wax with different colors for each of the houses.

  21. Nathan

Hi, could you show the pictures of the birthday wands? If not all what so the March wands look like?
Are the chocolate frogs worth it?
Also are there ravenclaw key neck thing?
    Lastly are there ravenclaw caps?
Thanks! I love these photos thanks so much!

    1. Michelle Moss

I wanted to get you a picture of all of the birthday wands but it was impossible to take the pictures in that store. It is so crowded. I can’t even describe how tight of a fit it is in that store. If, and that’s a big if, it ever calms down in that store I’ll try and get you pictures.

The chocolate frogs seem cool as a collectible. It’s solid chocolate and I could never imagine myself eating that entire thing. It’s pretty large. I bought 4 in the hopes of getting all 4 collector’s cards and I got one of each on my first attempt. I guess I’m pretty lucky 🙂

I didn’t see Ravenclaw caps. There was very little merchandise for the other schools. I did see some shirts, robes, scarves, ties, pins, lanyards, mugs, wax seals, journals, banners, magnets, and maybe one or two other small items for the individual houses.

    2. Tory

  22. Rina

Thanks for the detailed pricing list! I’m already planning for the Grand Opening 😉 I know I want a Pigmy Puff…I heard they were around $13. Is this true?
Also, I saw some photos of a jersey-style Gryffindor t-shirt…these look really cool, but I’d prefer a Ravenclaw one. Did you happen to see if they have them, or what the price was?
    Thanks again!

    1. Ricky Brigante

Yes, the Pygmy Puffs are around $12-13. I’m not sure about the shirt. It’s really hard to walk around many of the stores and actually look at the merchandise. It’s so cramped and it’s only going to get worse.

      1. Rina

Thank you for the quick reply. I completely understand, and I shudder at the thought…I can get claustrophobic, but Lord knows being a die-hard Potter fan wins over claustrophobia any day.

        1. Michelle Moss

There was no Ravenclaw jersey. Most of the quidditch merchandise had 07 and in the colors of Gryffindor. I guess that’s Harry’s number?

          1. Rina

Yep, it is 🙂 Thanks. I’ll probably pick it up anyways.

  23. Angela

Thanks so much for posting all of this information about the theme park! A am going for opening day, and have been living for June 18th for months 🙂 Was the golden snitch in your picture the remote controlled one? If so, does it actually fly?
    Thanks

    1. Ricky Brigante

Unfortunately, the golden snitch does not actually fly. It flutters its wings… and that’s it.

      1. Angela

Wow, I thought I heard an article saying it was remote controlled. That’s a disappointment! Thanks Ricky!

  24. Cindy VanSchoyck

I did contact Universal customer service and they said once the park is officially opened they will be posting HP items for sale. They also have a phone number you can call to see if certain things are available (once they start selling that is). Here’s the link to their online store, but don’t look for the HP stuff until after June 18th.(Not sure how soon after though)

    http://www.universalorlando.com/Merchandise/MerchandiseHome.aspx

Okay one quick question if you don’t mind…did you happen to see the Hogwarts Express 9 3/4 sign? I’ve been hunting everywhere for it.

    Thanks for the awesome coverage.

    1. Snitch

The 9 3/4 sign wouldnt be in Hogsmeade, it is at the train station in London!

    2. Holly

      CINDY I LOVE YOU!

Did they say how many items they would be posting? Is it just a few, or most of the stuff they sell at the park?

      1. Cindy

Glad to make your day Holly. The guy I talked to didn’t seem to know, so it may be an on going thing with stuff being added at different times. I had talked to them a few months ago and they said you could call the customer service number at the top of the page and tell them what you’re looking for so maybe they’ll be able to get it even if it hasn’t been listed online…I’m keeping my fingers crossed 😉

        1. Cindy

P.S. I just checked the FAQ (it’s on the left hand side near the bottom) at their store link and it does say if you don’t see something you’re interested in, to give them a call or email and they’ll see what they can do to help you.

          1. Michelle Moss

They did have a shirt and a hat with 9 3/4 on it but I think that was it.

          2. Cindy

Thanks Michelle. Guess I’ll have to keep looking.

        2. epheceWhadite

Он подошел, сильно припадая на правую ногу, лицо изможденное, перекосился. Она взмахнула свободной рукой, в кулаке амулет, пробормотала несколько слов, и в двух шагах возникла каменная стена, неотличимая от соседних. You can now get Wizarding World of Harry Potter merchandise at Orlando International Airport too:
      http://www.insidethemagic.net/2010/05/wizarding-world-of-harry-potter-merchandise-now-available-at-orlando-international-airport/

      1. Holly

Darn. Won’t be going there, either. XD

  25. MM

just another Q, is butterbeer an alcoholic drink?

    1. Andrew

      No it is not.

  26. devon

i have been watching a video about the birthday wands, and some of them are really ugly! are there more than one for each month, and can you get a diffrent month one if you prefer it?
i really want mine to be dragon heart string! 😉

    1. Ricky Brigante

You can pick any wand from any shelf and buy it.

    2. Michelle Moss

And there is only one for each month. When you get the wand it doesn’t actually say what the birthday is on the box or anything. So you could just really get any one and say it was for your birthday. No One would actually know.

  27. rodrigo

MICHELLE thak you for your complete answer. i am really exited to be there on the 13th of july. i have a question—-i am interested in buying a lot of the articles bt as you said, mybe they are going to sold out that particular day very earlier. so, what will be better…i will be at the park around 8am, probably at the entrance at 8:30am. do i try to go first to the fourbidden journey? or do i try to go first to all the stores and buy everything i want? what will be your recommendation?.
i am thinking that buying all that stuff early morning will be a pain cause i will be at the park all day, until night…but i really want to have everything…..

next day i will be at universal park, do you onsider it will be beter to go the the potter land on the 14th first and buy what i did not get on the 13th?, and then go to the universal park ad finish my day there?

believe me your advice will be really powerful…its my headcache, this days….

    1. rodrigo

sorry..also do they have like a basket in each store…to put the articles that you are getting…

    2. Ricky Brigante

It’s hard to predict which items will be available on which days. We found a few items to be sold out this weekend but I’m sure they’ll be back in stock soon. Universal is likely still figuring out which items are the most popular and which aren’t selling well and should adjust their stock accordingly. I predict the lines for Forbidden Journey will be VERY long all day, every day this summer. So I’d go for that ride first and then do your shopping later. You can have your merchandise sent to the front of the park for you to pick up later on your way out. Or, if you’re staying at a Universal hotel, I believe you can have it sent back to your room.

      1. Michelle Moss

I’ve gone back 3 times to get the Maurder’s Map and it’s been sold out all 3 times. I didn’t get it on the first day because it won’t fit into the lockers. You can always get the merchandise and have them send it to the front of the park or your hotel. But, I would go to the ride first. the line is going to be crazy long!

  28. jessica r

hey, im going late june and i have a few friends to buy souvenirs for. Are there a few things that are aroumd $5? like keychains, bookmarks, candy, ect? and how much are those drinks with the punpkin on the top? (im guessing its pumpking juice but im not 100% sure)

    1. Ricky Brigante

Yes there are keychains, bookmarks, and all of that sort of thing. You can definitely find some items for around $5 each. The Pumpkin Juice drinks are $4-5 and are VERY good.

      1. Michelle Moss

And you have to keep the pumpkin juice cold so you couldn’t bring it back to your friends unless you had a cooler.

  29. Jack

Thank you so much for this!

    I’m going 16th June -> 30th June 🙂 I can’t see a price for the chocolate

    1. Jack

Sorry half posted! *The chocolate frogs* my brother really wants one so I’d like to know how much I’ll need 🙂

      1. Jack

And I have now just noticed the price… strange how I couldn’t see it before I posted!

Thanks again for releasing the pricing details – something which Universal still haven’t done 🙂 very helpful when planning your budget 🙂

        Jack

  30. justin

i’m going to the wizarding world early july and i have a shopping list already but i’d like to know a couple of things first

are the chocolate frogs solid chocolate?

how good is the butterbeer (i heard there’s a non alchol butterbeer)

and in one of your videos i saw an azkaban shirt that i want how much is that?

answering these would be a great help for my visit thanks ^_^

    1. Ricky Brigante

The chocolate frogs are solid chocolate and each one comes with a collectible lenticular card featuring one of the four Hogwarts house founders.

Butterbeer is fantastic and is always non-alcoholic.

Most of the t-shirts are around $25.

  31. Dominique

At the “Owl Post” Universal says that it’s a post office, does anyone know how much the cost is or if there is one, to send any mail through it?

    1. Ricky Brigante

There is one small area in the middle of the Owl Post where you can get the special Wizarding World postmark. Then you have to put a normal amount of postage on it. There are Wizarding World stamps available, though they are currently sold out. But I’m sure they’ll get more in soon.

      1. Jose

Can you please post up a video of the sneakascope and how it works. would really appreciate it.

      2. Michelle Moss

The post cards and stamps were sold out yesterday. The Owl Post isn’t an actual post office. You couldn’t get a package sent from there or anything.

        1. Frog

Dan Radcliffe said in a promotional video that the Owl Post was a working post office and that you could send mail through it… Hmmm…

  32. Vicky

Hey there, I’m going to the park for it’s official opening. The wands they sell, do they have the wands from all characters available? Are they of good quality?

And do they have any Dobby stuffed animals or anything there of him at all?

Thanks for all your hard work!!

    1. Michelle Moss

I saw one Dobby shirt and that was all for him.

The wands….let me see if I remember them all…there were 12 character wands:

      Harry Potter
      Ron Weasley
      Hermione Granger
      Ginny Weasley
      Neville Longbottom
      Draco Malfoy
      Voldemort
      Professor McGonegall
      Professor Dumbledor
      Professor Snape
      Professor Lupin
and one more….Ricky is going to try and find it on his video.

      1. Michelle Moss

and Sirius Black. Thanks Ricky 🙂

  33. Veggie_Potter

Hi, I would first like to thank you for informing all of us about this! Second, I was just wondering if you happened to catch the price of the HP chess set they are apparently selling. Oh, and thanks for informing me about the sneakoscope. It was something I was looking forward to getting, but after reading your review, I think I’ll save my $15 for something else.

I’m not sure if you know the prices for any of these, but if you happen to know (so I can stop guestimating) that would be great:
    Bludger (and beaters bat)
    Mauraders Map
    Monster Book of Monsters
    Fanged Frisbee

Thanks again! I’ll be there July 14-20th, so I’m very excited, and am VERY strict on budget, so if you know, that would be great!

    1. Michelle Moss

One Chess set was $300 and the other was $400
Maurader’s Map $65 and was sold out 2 of the 3 times I was there
There was no monster book of monsters. I asked and they said that they were out of them.
No idea on the fanged frisbee or bludger set.

      1. Veggie_Potter

$300????!!!! That’s freaking outrageous. Oh my. This is very disappointing. I think I’ll go cry in a corner now. Thanks for letting me know.

      2. Veggie_Potter

Do you know the price range of HP backpacks/purses?

      3. Holly

WHAT?! Is it the Noble Collections maurader’s map? Because Noble sells it for only $35 online.

        1. dwarfhampster

it’s on sale right now at the wb store b/c it’s Draco’s birthday. All HP stuff is 20% off. http://www.wbshop.com/Harry-Potter-Marauders-Map/HPNBMAPMA,default,pd.html?cgid=hp_official

  34. Claire

    Is the golden snitch metal?

    1. Andrew

      I’m pretty sure it’s plastic.

      1. Michelle Moss

        yes, it’s plastic.

  35. Brian

Do you happen to know how much the Remembralls and Extendable Ears are?

    1. Michelle Moss

There are no extendable ears for sale 🙁

      1. Brian

=( Thanks for letting me know. Do you know how much the Remembralls are by any chance?

        1. Ricky Brigante

I never looked at it but the Sneakoscope was about $15 to probably close to that price.

  36. Jose

hey can you post up a video or photos of the sneakscope itslef and show what it does. thanks

    1. Ricky Brigante

Sorry, we returned it. It wasn’t worth the money. All it does is spin and light up.

  37. :( It's taking to long to go to harry potter

Hi i’m going in October and I have a few Questions for ya

    1. In Olivanders I saw ur video of the interactive choosing of the wand. Lots of people got in the shop then he chose one person they did their thing and everyone left afterwards so does this mean its a show rather than an attraction or is their a queue for choosing your wand.

2.Did they sell the marauders map and if so what special qualities did it have I’m a bit disapointed about the sneakescope 🙁 but ah well

    3. What will the queues be like i heard they are going to be really it in summer but will it have died down by october also could you buy any books like a history of magic or (one i’ve always wanted do they have Hogwarts a history)

    1. :( It's taking to long to go to harry potter

      and forgot to ask

      4. what is the difference between birthday wands and normal wands ???

      1. Ricky Brigante

        1. There is a line outside Ollvander’s. Around 20-25 people are let in at a time and out of that group, 1 is “chosen” to participate. Everyone else watches and then after the brief show ends, everyone moves into the shop next door.

        2. Yes, but the map was sold out after the first day. It doesn’t “do” anything.

        3. It is going to be very crowded there for quite a while. I didn’t see any Hogwarts history books.

        4. Birthday wands cost a few dollars more and are slightly longer and more ornate.

    2. Florida resident

As someone who lives in Florida, I can safely say it’s going to be packed no matter what time of year you go. October isn’t usually as big a tourist month (it will certainly be better than July) but you should still expect long lines and a crowded atmosphere. Islands of Adventure is always a busy park even without the Harry Potter section opening, your best luck is to go to the park right when it opens and get on all the rides early, the lines should only get bigger while the day goes on.

  38. Emily

Hi Michelle and Ricky! Thanks to both of you again for your superb job! As a shopaholic and true HP fan I loved every piece of merchandise you bought but especially the seals and your sequin shirt! Are there any action figures?

    1. Ricky Brigante

No action figures. In fact, there are almost no products anywhere that have specific characters on it. The goal in the merchandise is to feel authentic… like you’re buying real student clothing at Hogwarts, real candy at Honeydukes, and real jokes and tricks at Zonko’s. Very few items are typical theme park-style products. The idea is that you are actually in the Wizarding World. Shops in Hogsmeade Village wouldn’t sell shirts with Harry Potter’s face on it, so Islands of Adventure doesn’t either.

  39. Elizabeth

I’m curious if you spotted any Christmas ornaments or picture frames while you were there.

    Thanks!

    1. Cindy

I was wondering, with all the work they put into the details, did they think to add Moaning Myrtle to the Ladies Room-LOL.

      1. Ricky Brigante

Actually… yes! In both the boys and girls restrooms. Here’s a video of Moaning Myrtle in the Wizarding World bathrooms (nothing inappropriate is shown):
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJyKvR0dZ0s

        1. Cindy

          Thanks that was great!

    2. Ricky Brigante

No ornaments but there is a great picture frame that we’ll be posting a photo of soon.

      1. Tony

Are there any of the books out like the history of magic or secrets of darkestart or The life and lies of Albus Dumbledore? Also is there a Honeyduke bag and Exploding bon bon, Fizzing Whizbees, Pepper Imps, Ton-Tongue Toffee, Drooble’s Best Blowing Gum?

        Thanks

        1. Michelle Moss

There is a honeyduke’s bag that you can put candy into and you have to weigh it to purchase it. I do remember seeing Pepper Imps. They were little red candies. I don’t remember seeing the others though. However, I didn’t look that hard because the shop was so crowded.

  40. Ricky Brigante

Post updated to include much better pictures, more merchandise, and pricing for all items we bought.

    1. Holly

Loving the new pictures. I’m debating whether or not to sell my soul for that Fawkes plush. x_x Is there a Fluffy plush, too?

Universal, put this stuff up in your online store ASAP!!!!

      1. Michelle Moss

There is a fluffy plush. I’m pretty sure the picture is in the other bunch of HP photos we took.

    2. Peter

      Great update. Very good pics.

  41. Question:

Did you happen to see a “Remembr’all” in your journeys around the shops? I always said we would get one. I “forget” stuff alot and it’s kind of a joke between my hubby and I that “we should have one” . How big are the remembr’alls and do you recall their prices??

    1. Michelle Moss

Yes, they did have a rememberall. I don’t know how much it was though.

  42. Brian

Hey the new pictures are great! What items would you say sell out the most?

    1. Michelle Moss

They sell the most of wands. Hands down!

  43. Rina

Love the new pictures. Does the Sirius Black picture frame come with the option of switching out the pictures? I wouldn’t want to; I’m just curious. Also, does it move/is it a hologram? I’m thinking about getting it since I need something to decorate my bedroom with, haha.
Thanks again for the great pictures.

    1. Ricky Brigante

The picture of Sirius Black is just a picture. It’s not lenticular and does not move. You can take it out and put any photo in there.

  44. Ethan

Awesome pictures! Couple of questions. Are the wands made of wood or are they plastic? Do you have favorite item overall? Thanks in advance!

    1. :( It's taking to long to go to harry potter

i was wondering that to i dont want some pathetic rip off plasctic wand for $30!!!!!

    2. Ricky Brigante

They appear to be made of metal at their core. Very strong.

  45. G-Rat

Hi Great picture. Can you please tell me what kind of wand the birthday wand is? Thanks.

  46. Andrew

Your birthday wand is actually the look of George’s wand. Interesting. Look it up on Noble Collection.

  47. Amy

Is the Hedwig pillow soft or more velvet feeling? It would match my room perfectly and I was wondering about the texture since velvet materials are hard for me to touch.

    1. Ricky Brigante

It’s very soft and kind of feels like a fleece material.

  48. Rachna

Do the wands do anything like make noise or light up?

    1. Ricky Brigante

      No, they are just wands.

      1. Rachna

Ok thank you for the response!

      2. Wild Ol' Dan

        Howdy Pards,

Well, first thing I wanna do is congratulate and thank everyone at INSIDE THE MAGIC for the absolute finest coverage of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to be found anywhere on the internet! It was an absolute joy to review both your articles and especially your videos and I sure hope you plan to add even more in the not too distant future. What a celebration! Thank you. Your coverage of the stuff available is truly outstanding and exceeds any other coverage by far! Adios for now. Talk to ya on down the trail. Wild Ol’ Dan

        1. Ricky Brigante

Thanks! Unfortunately it appears that I won’t have the opportunity to attend tomorrow night’s celebrity event, but I plan on virtually attending via their live online stream – better than nothing I suppose! 🙂 But I will be continuing our Wizarding World coverage on Friday morning when it grand opens to the public. Should be madness – and a great time!

    2. Frog

Not at the moment, however, Universal is considering getting them to interact with areas of the village and the castle…

      1. Wild Ol' Dan

        Howdy Frog,

I’m afraid the current wands that are available will interact with nothing outside of our imaginations. I own Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Dumbledore’s wands…and, I do own another of Harry’s wands that will indeed light up with just a wave of the wrist and, well, I always like to say LUMOS when I do…and NOX when I do it again to turn off the light.
If, in the future, Universal develops a wand that does interact with things in the park…it will be a special wand…not the collectors wands now available at Ollivanders.
Adios for now. Talk to ya on down the trail.

        Wild Ol’ Dan

  49. Mark

Are there baskets available in the shops as I cannot see any in the vidoes or photos? If not that is going to be a problem based on the amount of merchandise I want to buy when I am there in October.

Also, could you please post a picture of the souveneir ticket you received with your package? Thanks.

    1. Ricky Brigante

I didn’t see any baskets to carry items inside the stores. I also didn’t have one of the packages that came with the collectible ticket.

  50. Pranav

Anyone know how much the brooms are?

    1. Rachna

      $250, $300

      1. Pranav

        how do you know?

        1. Rachna

          read it somewhere!

          1. Pranav

            WHERE?

          2. Pranav

            This person is mean!

    2. Michelle Moss

Yes, the brooms are $300 and up. I asked the person behind the counter at the store.

  51. Jessica

It says that the brooms are around $300, but some could be more. It’s in the top half of the comments. Hope that helps.

  52. Simply amazing! Thanks for all the awesome pics. Going in a few days…I should probably leave my credit cards at home…but I won’t!

  53. Tyler

Hey! I really appreciate all of the exclusive photos and videos. I read on several websites that Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods has remote control Golden Snitches for sale. Is this true? If you saw them, how much were they?

    1. Ricky Brigante

      I didn’t see those.

    2. Yahem Z.

They have those at Filch’s. I buy that.

  54. Tyler

Oh, and are the wands made out of wood? If they are $28, they better be of good quality. Haha!

    1. Ricky Brigante

Nope. They seem to have a solid metal core.

      1. Tyler

That’s even better. They’ll last longer that way. They aren’t heavy, are they?

        1. Cindy

Okay, I’m going crazy, I remember someone asking about buying the ‘Monster book of monsters’ and where it can be bought and I can’t remember where (if it was here or at another forum) I saw it. They have it for sale at Amazon in case that person was from here cause I don’t know if the WW will be selling it.

          http://www.amazon.com/Harry-Potter-Monster-Monsters-Plush/dp/B000P6XEO8/ref=pd_bxgy_t_text_b

        2. Connie

They are handpainted polyresin with metal rod inside.

  55. Katie R

So many questions, where to start.. Well I’ll be there from july 24th to the 28th armed with 3 day park to park passes. The first day i want to dedicate to the HP area.
-What would you recommend doing first? Shopping or Forbidden Journey?
-Do the souvenirs come with bags? Or should I bring one to carry the items?
-Do wands sell out fast? (its the main item i want to get)
-And do they have school robes?
-One more! How long are line estimates around the time of end of july?

    Thanksss :))

    1. Cindy

Just a heads up…they have a message at the Universal online store saying they’re getting things ready to start selling WW merchandise.

      http://www.universalorlando.com/OverviewPages/Shops/merchandise_store.aspx

    2. Ricky Brigante

Shopping can wait until later in the day. The Ollivander’s experience will have a line all day long, with it being shorter at the end of the day. But you don’t have to go through that to buy a wand. In fact, Universal has set up a magic wand cart outside the Forbidden Journey attraction as well.

You’ll get a sturdy plastic bag with a handle with every purchase.

The wands will not likely sell out. It seems like they have enough to go around.

      They do have school robes.

Line estimates are quite unknown at this point. But given that it’s the busy summer season PLUS the Wizarding World being new, I’d imagine lines throughout the park will be fairly long. Lines are always shorter at the end of the day.

      1. Anna

Hi im just back from Orlando and went to WWoHP about 5 times when i was there. We went for 9am on our first day and didnt queue for more than 20 mins to get into park. Forbidden jourey wait times seemed no longer than 45 mins every time i went. Dont buy chocolate frogs too early as they will be melted by the time you leave. A lot of the merchandise can be bought at the Universal Gift shop in CityWalk. I bought chocolate presents in here on my way home so they stayed solid. Evening time is a great time to go as its cooling down and it quietens down because people that were there early have got tired and left. On my last visit they had sold out of the butterbeer cups and were using just regular plastic cups with butterbeer wrote on the side. Olivanders has a queue permanently and it gets very warm when queing during the day. Have fun its amazing

    3. rocky

Go to wand shop first-40 min wait…then forbidden journey then 3 broom sticks then shop…honeydukes is cool zonko? is ok. Butter beer frozen and non frozen are amazing…mixing them is the best.

  56. Tony

@Katie R: lot of people from what I here head to the Forbidden Journey first. However if you are hoping to get your hands on a Chocolate Frog your going to what to get there early to get it that is the hottest idem right know

As far as the bags they have the poster they used to promote the park. I don’t know if they have any other kinds of bags

They have lots of wands they have 13 different Birthday wands and then wands film the film. the store is very small and can only hole around 25 to 30 people at a time. So they should have wands with out selling out

Yes they have school robes from each all 4 houses from what I hear and there around a $100 each

Will I do know opening day was and 8 hours wait to get in then by about 2 o clock in the after noon the Forbidden Journey ride was about 45 minutes the same day. If you are going out between July 13-17 do know the LeakyCon is going to be there. Over all I would guess about half the time it was for opening day but can for sure

    Hope it helps

    1. Katie R

yes perfect! ill be there the 24th through the 28th. i loved hermione’s wand but im curious what the may wand looks like (my bday). i cant wait to go!

  57. Chris

Does anyone have any idea how much the Quidditch items are? The Quaffle, Beater’s Bat, Bludger, ect?

And ty for posting this. This all looks amazing and you sure got some great stuff!!!

    1. Tory

      Bludger- $22
      Quaffle- $20
      Snitch-15-20

      approximate!

  58. Jackie

I will be going in July. Thank you for posting all this info. I know that there is lots of merch you can purchase at the WB shop online and the Noble Collection catalog. Plus I live by a FAO Schwartz store which carries the map for $35, so if it’s not on sale on the WB site, I can always get it there.

I’m going to be careful w/my spending and buy things I can ONLY get at the park. Thanks again. 🙂

  59. Jess

Does anyone know if they sell time turners at the shop? I’ve been dying to get my hands on one!

    1. Ricky Brigante

They unfortunately don’t sell time turners and they don’t expect to.

      1. Jess

        What a letdown…

  60. Tony

Do they have head boy and head girl pins for the houses like they do for the Prefect pins?

    1. amaya

yes they do. they are around 7.95

  61. Katie R

Oh and by the way, how fast do school robes sell out? How are the sizes determind? And is it just the cape or other pieces?

    1. Ricky Brigante

Unfortunately, I haven’t really looked closely at the robes. But I’ll try to next time I’m there (which will be soon).

  62. Mark

The Universal Store website “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” section has now opened for business, selling a limited range of merchandise.

    http://www.universalorlando.com/OverviewPages/Shops/merchandise_store.aspx

  63. Katie R

How ridiculously long are these lines to get into the different stores anyways?

    1. Ricky Brigante

The last time I was there, there was no line for Honeydukes or Zonko’s. Ollivander’s looked to be around 45-60 minutes. Dervish & Banges / Owl Post (which is where Ollivander’s exits into) was likely around 30 minutes. There’s never a line to enter Filch’s Emporium, as it’s the exit for Forbidden Journey.

      1. Katie R

Well alright! looks like I am willing to wait! But do you recommend shopping or riding the forbidden journey first?

        1. Ricky Brigante

The Forbidden Journey queue is much more enjoyable than waiting outside to get into a shop. I’d recommend visiting Ollivander’s first thing in the morning, browsing through the Owl Post and Dervish & Banges afterward, and then hitting Forbidden Journey.

          1. Katie R

Ok great! Lets hope they have what I need!

  64. Valerie

Hello! How large are the pins, if you happen to remember? Specifically interested in the Prefect pins.

    1. Ricky Brigante

Depends on the pin. Some are as small as 1″ and others are as big as 2″ or more.

  65. Nadia-Francina

Hi, I just wondered, that Golden snitch, does it come off the black stand? I’m dying to get one, the one you have is pretty much what I’m looking for, but I want to be able to take it off the stand.

    1. Dennis

      Hi Nadia-Francina,

This might look like spam, but I just found your reply on this website. I know it’s been a while since you’ve asked this, but I think I have the golden snitch you’ve been looking for. At this moment I sell an exclusive gold plated and sterling silver golden snitch. It is no merchandise and only a few of these are made. It comes with an official certificate of authenticity and a wooden gift box. And you can take the snitch of the stand!
Please take a look at my advertisement on eBay, and I hope you are not offended with my message. Best regards, Dennis

  66. Jess

Hi. This site is awesome! I can’t wait to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter during Christmas time. By any chance, do you know what colours the Pygmy Puff’s come in, other than pink? Thanks.

    1. Ricky Brigante

      Only pink!

      1. Jess

        Thanks!

  67. Lexi Dickson

Awwww! Now you’ve convinced me to go!

  68. jenn

does anyone know the size of the golden snitch? that wing span looks pretty long…

    1. Ricky Brigante

      Around 8-10″ across.

  69. Rosa

    Hi!
I know the wizarding world is open for quite some time now, but i live in Europe so it’s not quite easy for me to go. I had a question, do they sell prefect badges for hufflepuff/ravenclaw houses too?

    1. Isabelle

No, they don’t 🙁 I came home from WWoHP yesterday and they only have them i Slytherin och Gryffindor. It really sucks… I’m a Ravenclaw but apparently no one really cares about the Ravs and the Puffs 🙁

      1. Lindsay

That’s not true at all. They have Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff things for almost ever single thing as they do Slytherin and Gryffindor. The only thing I saw there that they didn’t have for Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff were blankets. They have the badges, not to worry! I’m in ravenclaw too, and I got tons of things for my house. People really do care about the ‘ravs’ and the ‘puffs’, RAVENCLAW IS THE BEST HOUSE!

  70. Ronald

I have been researching on the internet and the forums and I wanted to know if they actually sell the Quidditch robes inside the park? I have a friend who would love to get one….

  71. Liz

Hey, how come I can’t find any plush toys of Fang?

    1. Ricky Brigante

They do sell them at Filch’s Emporium in the Wizarding World.

  72. Asia

can you pleaseeee tell me which store you got the socks from?!

    1. Ricky Brigante

The socks were in Filch’s Emporium (the Forbidden Journey gift shop).

  73. Amy

Hi, i love that golden snitch, can you please send the link to buy it please..

  74. another avid reader of the upside down quibbler

Do they sell subscriptions or copies of the quibbler?

    1. another avid reader of the upside down quibbler

Okay, i am such an idiot! Just figured it out. Duhhh… We are going in less than a week!

  75. Michelle

Wondering if you sell Ravenclaw scarves at the Universal Store in Orlando airport.

  76. I want absolutely everything! The pygmy puff made me laugh. It’s so cute! And the luggage stationary set? Too cool! I am waiting impatiently for the California park to open…
