Downtown Disney McDonald’s closes to make way for Pollo Campero

in Disney, Downtown Disney, Food, Walt Disney World

The McDonald’s restaurant at Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney has closed its doors to be replaced by a Latin quick-service chain restaurant called Pollo Campero. The menu items will feature Campero Latin chicken (fried or grilled), yuca fries, sweet plantains, and Latin drinks including horchata and tamarindo. The menu also will include more nutritious meals such as chef-prepared salads, sandwiches and wraps.

While Pollo Campero serves more than 85 million customers each year at more than 300 restaurants in 12 countries around the world, this will only be the fourth Campero location in Florida, with the closest to Orlando being a couple hours south in Boynton Beach.

Pollo Campero at Downtown Disney is scheduled to open in late 2010.
