Walt Disney World Resort has given guests just over one week’s notice regarding an early closure at Magic Kingdom Park. The early shutdown comes just a few days after the final night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and three days before the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party event, both of which send non-ticketed guests out of the original Central Florida Disney park beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Walt Disney World Resort recently updated the official webpage for the Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction at Magic Kingdom Park to reflect that the ride will close at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 5. That is three hours before the original Central Florida Disney park is scheduled to close, at 10:00 p.m.

According to the operating calendar, the Fantasyland dark ride will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. that day. However, guests staying at eligible Disney Resort hotels can take advantage of 30 extra minutes on the attraction during Early Theme Park Entry at the Magic Kingdom, which starts at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 5.

Walt Disney World Resort has not said why Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid is closing three hours early next Thursday. The ride also closed for just one day on February 11, and that closure also appeared on the operational calendar about one week in advance. Similarly, Disney did not share the reason for that closure.

There is currently no refurbishment scheduled for Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid at Magic Kingdom Park. The attraction may be shutting down for a private event or a minor repair.
