The incident occurred hours after most guests had already left to spend the day at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

At 9:54 a.m. on October 20, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a “hotel burglary” in the EPCOT Resort Area at Walt Disney World. @WDWActiveCrime, an account that monitors police activity and other emergency responses in Central Florida, shared the scanner report regarding the incident on X (formerly known as Twitter):

The Google Maps screenshot attached to the X post pinpoints a location in the middle of Crescent Lake. However, those coordinates are frequently used to record emergency responses in the EPCOT Resort Area; they do not necessarily represent the area where the burglary call originated on Tuesday morning.

The EPCOT Resort Area includes Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts (operated by Marriott).

It’s unclear whether the burglary occurred on Disney property or inside a guest room. As of Tuesday afternoon, no police report had been published regarding this incident in the EPCOT Resort Area, nor have criminal charges been filed.

Walt Disney World Resort has not commented publicly on the hotel burglary incident on Tuesday. Operations in the EPCOT Resort Area appear to be continuing normally following the morning emergency response.
