At 1:03 p.m. on October 15, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a grand theft in the Magic Kingdom Park/Disney’s Contemporary Resort Area. @WDWActiveCrime, an X (formerly known as Twitter) account known for tracking police activity in and around Walt Disney World Resort, relayed the information available in the public scanner report:

🚨 Police Alert 🚓 – 10/15/26 1:03 PM

The Google Maps screenshot attached to the X post pinpoints a location along World Drive, between Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. However, law enforcement responses in this area are often logged at this address, so the 911 call regarding Thursday’s grand theft may not have originated there. The grand theft could have occurred inside Magic Kingdom Park, at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, or along the walkway between the two.

It’s unclear what was reported stolen at Walt Disney World Resort on Thursday afternoon, how many suspects are involved, or whether those accused of grand theft were Disney Park guests, cast members, or passersby. In Florida, the threshold for grand theft begins at property or currency valued at $750 or more.

It’s not unusual for the Central Florida Disney vacation destination to remain silent about law enforcement responses on its property, but more information may become available through a police report and/or criminal charges filed by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
