After closing in May, the reimagined Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge at Disneyland Paris Resort has officially reopened. On October 12, the European Disney park shared some updated photos of its iconic pink landmark.

The bridge leading to Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park (Paris) closed in May. Construction walls blocked theme park guests from accessing the area, and Disneyland Paris Resort eventually installed scrims featuring printed images of the castle’s base on those barriers to minimize disruptions to vacation photos.

Disneyland Paris Resort originally said it would restore access to Sleeping Beauty Castle in “late September 2026.” However, that date came and went, and the bridge remained closed.

Now, 34 years after Sleeping Beauty Castle debuted alongside Disneyland Park (Paris) in 1992, the restored bridge has reopened.

First Look at Reimagined Disneyland Landmark

On Monday, Disneyland Paris Resort shared the first look at the restored bridge to Sleeping Beauty Castle. According to the European Disney park, cast members completely rebuilt the structure supporting the decorative elements of the bridge and replaced both the wooden balustrade posts and the drawbridge deck. 2,735 individual hand-sculpted synthetic stone pieces were used to form the arch beneath the bridge.

The drawbridge deck was entirely redesigned; Disney cast members replaced the original stamped concrete with new waterproof granite paving. Disneyland Paris Resort says this option was not only more aesthetically pleasing but also more durable and easier to maintain.

The most noticeable addition is a brand-new compass rose made of natural stone and brass. It features blue and red sections connected by a green arc; each color represents one of the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty (1959), Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. At the center is a brass medallion featuring an engraving of Princess Aurora’s crown.

All of these elements, as well as new paint, patina, and detailed engravings, are visible in photos shared by @DLPReport on X (formerly known as Twitter):
