For weeks, guests arriving at one of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’s signature experiences found that an important part of the process had disappeared.
The experience remained available, but visitors had to make one of its biggest decisions without a feature that had previously helped guide them.
Now, that feature has finally returned.
For an experience that costs nearly $300, the return addresses a frustrating gap and gives guests something useful before they make their final choice.
A $275 Trip Deeper Into the Star Wars Universe
Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers has become one of the signature experiences inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Rather than purchasing a lightsaber from a shelf, guests participate in an immersive building ceremony led by Savi’s Gatherers.
The story places visitors inside a secret workshop hidden from the First Order. Builders select components, assemble their lightsaber, choose a kyber crystal, and eventually activate their finished creation.
The current price is $274.99 per lightsaber, making it a major purchase for many families.
Guests can choose from four themes: Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, and Protection and Defense. Each offers different components that determine the appearance of the finished hilt.
Recently, guests lost one of the easiest ways to examine those choices.
A Familiar Feature Is Back in Guests’ Hands
According to WDW News Today, physical lightsaber parts menus have returned to Savi’s Workshop after disappearing earlier in September.
The menus provide guests with a convenient overview of the components associated with each of the four available lightsaber themes.
Disney reportedly removed them after the physical menus began cracking. During their absence, guests could still view examples of the available “scrap metal” pieces inside drawers at the location.
Still, that changed the selection process.
Instead of having a menu clearly presenting their choices, builders had to rely more heavily on the displays while deciding which direction they wanted to take.
The returning menus have received some minor design adjustments, according to the report.
Cast Members reportedly indicated that the menus may not remain available throughout the entire operating day. For now, though, a helpful piece of the Savi’s Workshop experience has returned.
Spending Nearly $300 Makes Every Choice Matter
The menus serve a practical purpose that becomes more important when guests consider the price.
At $274.99, this isn’t an impulse souvenir for most visitors.
Many Star Wars fans will keep their lightsaber long after their Walt Disney World vacation ends. Some may already know the style they want, while others need to compare their options before committing.
That makes an easy-to-understand visual guide valuable.
Savi’s Workshop also moves guests through an immersive ceremony once the building begins. The focus shifts from shopping to storytelling, so guests benefit from understanding their choices beforehand.
The component drawers offered another way to view the pieces while the menus were gone, but bringing back the physical guides makes it easier to compare the four themes.
The timing also comes as Disney continues giving Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge new reasons to draw returning visitors.
Batuu Is Getting Much More Than a Small Fix
One of the biggest recent additions arrived at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
Disney introduced a new adventure featuring Din Djarin and Grogu in May 2026, giving guests a different mission aboard the Millennium Falcon.
The experience can take crews to destinations including Bespin, Coruscant, and the wreckage of the second Death Star near Endor. Disney also expanded the controls available to riders, giving crew members more influence over their mission.
More changes are coming elsewhere in Batuu.
Disney has confirmed that Batuu Adventure Buddies will eventually arrive at Walt Disney World. These interactive companions include Grogu, an Ewok, and a Huttlet.
The characters feature movement, sounds, touch responses, and interactions with certain elements around Galaxy’s Edge. Disney has not announced exactly when they will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Then there’s an unusual connection between Galaxy’s Edge and the gaming world.
Guests can connect a ride aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run with the “Smugglers Gambit” Fortnite Experience.
The integration extends the Star Wars adventure beyond Disney’s Hollywood Studios by connecting the attraction with an experience inside Fortnite.
Galaxy’s Edge Continues To Evolve
Restoring the Savi’s Workshop menus fixes an important part of the experience and justifies the premium price.
Guests spending $274.99 to build a lightsaber should have a clear opportunity to understand their options before committing to a design. The returning menus provide exactly that.
Their return also comes during a period when Disney is actively adding new layers to its Star Wars land.
