Construction continues to transform Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and the latest phase has now resulted in the closure of a key area near the hotel’s lobby.
Guests approaching the resort from the theme parks can no longer use the usual back lobby entrance. Construction walls and scaffolding have taken over the area, while nearby outdoor walkways have also been blocked.
The good news is that Disney’s Yacht Club Resort remains open. Guests can still reach the lobby and other areas of the hotel. However, anyone staying there during the refurbishment should prepare for temporary detours as Disney continues its exterior work.
Disney World Closes Yacht Club Resort Entrance Area
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and neighboring Disney’s Beach Club Resort have been undergoing extensive refurbishment work since 2025. Now, that work has become much more noticeable for guests arriving at Yacht Club.
According to recent reports from AllEars, construction walls currently surround the back lobby entrance that guests normally reach while walking from the parks. The main entrance to the lobby from this side of the resort has been completely closed.
Scaffolding has also appeared around the back entrance and the neighboring portion of the building as crews continue exterior work.
That creates a particularly noticeable change because of Yacht Club’s location.
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort sits in the EPCOT resort area and shares many amenities with Disney’s Beach Club Resort. One of the biggest benefits of staying here is the ability to walk between the hotels and nearby theme parks.
With construction now affecting part of that walking route, guests may need to pay closer attention to signs and temporary pathways.
Guests Can No Longer Use Nearby Outdoor Walkways
The entrance itself isn’t the only thing affected.
Outdoor walkways near the construction area have also closed. That means guests approaching Yacht Club from the theme parks can’t simply follow their normal route directly through the affected entrance.
Instead, visitors have alternative ways to get inside.
Guests can enter the Yacht Club building through Beach Club. They can also continue farther beyond the construction area and approach from around the leisure pool or wedding gazebo. Most importantly, the Yacht Club lobby itself remains open.
So, this isn’t a closure of Disney’s Yacht Club Resort itself.
Rather, Disney has closed a specific entrance and surrounding walkway area while crews perform exterior refurbishment work. Still, it could be an inconvenience for guests who are used to the resort’s normal layout.
That may become especially noticeable at the end of a long park day.
A slightly longer route might not seem significant in the morning, but after spending hours walking through EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, an unexpected detour back to the hotel can feel considerably more inconvenient.
Yacht Club Construction Will Continue Through Late 2026
Guests shouldn’t expect all of the construction to disappear immediately.
The current exterior refurbishment at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is scheduled to continue through late 2026. Meanwhile, routine exterior maintenance at neighboring Disney’s Beach Club Resort is expected to continue into 2027.
That means construction could remain part of the experience for guests visiting the EPCOT resort area over the coming months.
Disney regularly refurbishes its hotels, and exterior maintenance is necessary to keep buildings in good condition. However, the scale and location of the current work make this particular project difficult for guests to miss.
Construction walls now occupy a portion of an area that many visitors regularly use when traveling between Yacht Club and the theme parks.
The scaffolding surrounding the building also makes parts of the resort look noticeably different from their usual appearance.
For anyone who has stayed at Yacht Club before, the temporary setup may be especially surprising upon arrival.
What Guests Staying at Yacht Club Should Know
The biggest thing guests need to understand is that Yacht Club remains operational throughout the refurbishment.
The lobby remains accessible, and guests aren’t being prevented from entering the hotel. They simply need to use alternate routes around the closed construction area.
Disney guests staying at Yacht Club during the refurbishment may also want to consider where their room is located.
Guests concerned about construction noise can request a quieter room away from the work area when checking in. Of course, room requests generally depend on availability, so there’s no guarantee Disney will be able to accommodate every request.
Still, it may be worth asking.
Anyone arriving at Yacht Club should also allow a little extra time when traveling around the resort until they become familiar with the temporary routes.
This could matter for guests heading to dining reservations, catching transportation, or trying to reach EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios at a specific time.
Yacht Club’s Location Makes the Closure More Noticeable
Part of what makes the current closure significant is how guests typically use this resort.
Yacht Club and Beach Club are within walking distance of both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests in this area also have convenient access to the Disney BoardWalk and nearby transportation options.
For many families, that walkability plays a major role in deciding to stay here.
A guest might leave EPCOT after dinner and simply walk back to the hotel instead of waiting for other transportation. Likewise, families can travel around the BoardWalk resort area without relying on buses for every trip.
The current construction doesn’t eliminate those benefits, but it does change how guests navigate part of the property.
Someone familiar with the resort could instinctively head toward the usual back lobby entrance only to discover construction walls blocking the route.
Following posted signs and allowing additional walking time should help avoid unnecessary frustration.
More Changes Are Coming to the EPCOT Resort Area
For now, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort remains in the middle of a refurbishment period that isn’t finished yet.
The latest work has closed the back lobby entrance from the park-side walking route and blocked nearby outdoor walkways. Scaffolding and construction walls have also changed the appearance of this section of the resort.
