Baymax has officially arrived at the park just as Disney wraps up the public opening of its reimagined animation area. Magic of Disney Animation officially debuted on September 14, 2026, bringing several new experiences into the park after portions of the surrounding area had already begun welcoming guests.
Now, Baymax is joining the celebration.
It’s a small addition compared to the larger transformation happening around him, but it gives fans of Big Hero 6 (2014) something they haven’t had much of at Disney World. And considering what Disney has done with Baymax elsewhere, it could leave fans wondering whether this is only the beginning.
Baymax Has Finally Made the Trip East
Disney has brought the popular Baymax Sipper to Hollywood Studios, giving Walt Disney World guests access to an item that previously appeared across the country.
Fans may recognize the design from San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure, where it debuted in 2023. Three years later, the collectible has made its way to Florida as part of the newly transformed animation area.
The sipper features Baymax with his charging station underneath him. Of course, it also functions as an actual drink container rather than simply serving as a display piece.
Guests purchasing the Baymax Sipper receive it with a specialty drink called “Ani-Made.” The beverage combines Minute Maid premium lemonade, Dole Pineapple Juice, and watermelon syrup.
Disney is limiting purchases to two sippers per person in each transaction.
Its arrival also lines up perfectly with a much bigger debut happening around it.
The Biggest Piece Is Now Open
Magic of Disney Animation officially opened at Hollywood Studios on September 14, completing another major stage of the Walt Disney Studios Lot transformation.
While guests had already experienced portions of the reimagined area, the latest opening introduced some of its most anticipated additions.
One is Drawn to Wonderland, a new play area inspired by Disney’s Alice in Wonderland (1951). The space gives younger guests another place to explore while connecting the area back to Disney animation history.
Olaf also gets his own starring role with Olaf Draws!, adding another recognizable modern Disney character to the experience. The overall area blends newer characters with nostalgic references rather than focusing exclusively on a single movie or franchise.
That approach makes Magic of Disney Animation stand apart from many recent Disney World projects. Disney has created a space capable of pulling characters and ideas from across generations.
And some of that work started before the September 14 opening.
Disney Had Already Been Building Toward This
The transformation of this corner of Hollywood Studios didn’t happen overnight.
Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! had already opened in the changing area, offering younger visitors a show featuring familiar Disney Junior characters.
Disney also transformed the surrounding Walt Disney Studios Lot with touches designed to bring animation back into Hollywood Studios’ identity.
Guests can find statues of iconic animated animals throughout the area, while roaming characters create encounters that feel less structured than traditional meet-and-greets. Instead of every character appearing inside a dedicated room with a queue, guests may stumble across familiar faces while exploring.
That gives the land a different personality.
Hollywood Studios has spent years becoming increasingly centered around major franchises and highly themed destinations. This project brings broader Disney animation history back into the park while creating room for characters without permanent attractions.
Baymax fits particularly well into that idea. But there’s another place where the character could eventually make an even bigger impact.
Could Baymax Eventually Get Something Bigger?
For now, Baymax’s Disney World presence remains mostly limited to merchandise, though the character has made rare appearances over the years. Most recently, Baymax joined a huge group of iconic characters for a photo celebrating the opening of Magic of Disney Animation.
The character presents an interesting possibility for the future.
Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland has areas Disney could eventually rethink, including the former home of Stitch’s Great Escape. That attraction has been gone for years, leaving fans to speculate about what Disney could eventually do with portions of that space.
A Baymax experience could make sense thematically.
The futuristic technology of Big Hero 6 (2014) could fit naturally into Tomorrowland, and Disney has already proven that the franchise can support a theme park attraction. Tokyo Disneyland operates The Happy Ride with Baymax, showing that Imagineering has already translated the character into a ride experience.
That doesn’t mean Disney World will receive the same attraction, or any Baymax ride at all. Disney has announced nothing to suggest that such a project is moving forward.
But with Tomorrowland continuing to evolve, unused or underused space could eventually create an opportunity for something new.
Baymax Arrives at an Interesting Time
Baymax may only be arriving as a sipper for now, but his Hollywood Studios debut comes during a much larger moment for the park.
Magic of Disney Animation is officially open, the Walt Disney Studios Lot has taken on a new identity, and Disney is once again putting animated characters at the center of this section of Hollywood Studios.
For Big Hero 6 (2014) fans, finally seeing Baymax represented at Walt Disney World is a welcome addition.
Whether he eventually becomes something much bigger remains entirely up to Disney. But with the character now making his presence felt at Hollywood Studios, Baymax fans have a little more reason to hope Disney World hasn’t seen the last of him.
