The final Disney Store in this country is now gone forever as a new chapter begins right inside Disney Village, bringing in wonders and trying to recapture the joy once found in the magic of stepping into a Disney Store.

Final Disney Store Removed as New Chapter Set to Begin in Paris

Disneyland Paris has set an opening date for Disney Wonders, the new boutique replacing the former Disney Store at Disney Village. The shop is scheduled to welcome guests on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, giving the resort’s sweeping retail overhaul a concrete next milestone and ending months of uncertainty about when the replacement would debut.

The former Disney Store permanently closed on January 4 after more than three decades at Disney Village, ending the run of the last location operating under the Disney Store banner in France. Disney Wonders will occupy that same space, so Disney retail is not disappearing from the resort; the familiar Disney Store identity, however, is not coming back.

Disney Wonders Opens September 22 at Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris first announced the Disney Wonders project in April 2025, when it said the Disney Store would be reimagined into a shop bringing major Disney franchises together under one roof. The resort later described the replacement as a bright, modern space built around themed areas designed to place visitors inside favorite Disney stories.

Disney Wonders is not a reopening of the old Disney Store under unchanged branding. It is a replacement concept within the ongoing transformation of Disney Village, the shopping, dining, and entertainment district between the Disneyland Paris theme parks and Disney Hotels.

Earlier official updates had only placed Disney Wonders in 2026, while Inside the Magic previously reported on construction at the former Disney Store after the location closed in January.

France’s Final Disney Store Is Now Part of the Past

For longtime fans, the larger story is the name that disappeared. Inside the Magic reported when the Disney Store officially closed that the Disney Village location welcomed its final customers on January 3 and permanently closed beginning January 4, 2026.

Its closure also completed a broader retreat of the Disney Store name from physical retail in France. The well-known Champs-Élysées Disney Store in Paris had already closed in 2023. With the Disney Village location now converted into Disney Wonders, France no longer has a physical location operating under that traditional Disney Store identity.

French shoppers have not lost all physical access to Disney merchandise. Disney Village continues to operate multiple Disney retail locations, including Disney Style, Disney Glamour and Deco by Disney, while Disney Wonders itself will sell products tied to Disney’s major franchises. What has ended is a specific retail brand and presentation that survived at Disneyland Paris after the standalone Champs-Élysées store disappeared.

Disney Village Is Trading Its Old Identity for a Modern One

Disney Wonders fits a pattern that has become increasingly visible across Disney Village. Disneyland Paris says the district is undergoing a multi-year transformation intended to create a more modern, inviting experience, with new and renovated shopping and dining locations.

The Sports Bar & Lounge was redesigned, while a new McDonald’s opened in February 2026 as its older Disney Village location was retired and later demolished. Inside the Magic covered the demolition of the original McDonald’s as another familiar piece of the district gave way to its replacement.

Annette’s Diner closed for a substantial refurbishment in January 2026, although Disneyland Paris has said its 1950s rock-and-roll character will be preserved. Inside the Magic has also covered the changing future of Rainforest Cafe at Disney Village as the district continues to shed or rework pieces of its earlier-era lineup.

The projects show that Disney Wonders is not an isolated merchandise update. It is part of a deliberate reset of Disney Village’s visual and commercial identity.

What Guests Can Expect Inside Disney Wonders

Disneyland Paris has emphasized immersion rather than nostalgia in describing the new shop. Its official project announcement says Disney Wonders will use themed areas to surround guests with Disney stories, with seasonal additions intended to refresh the experience over time.

Earlier Disney material said the store would gather major Disney franchises under one roof and offer products inspired by those properties. That makes the location a broad merchandise destination rather than a narrowly themed boutique like Disney Glamour or the home-focused Deco by Disney.

There are still details Disney has not publicly spelled out in the official material reviewed for this article, including a complete merchandise inventory and any opening-day operating procedures. Those should not be assumed ahead of September 22.

The former Disney Store space returns to service as a new retail concept. For longtime Disney Store fans, though, walking through those doors will mean entering something intentionally different from the shop that occupied the site for decades.

September 22 Marks a New Chapter, Not a Restoration

The opening of Disney Wonders closes the loop on one of the most symbolic changes in the Disney Village redevelopment. A location once defined by the Disney Store name will again sell Disney merchandise, but through a new brand, new design and a franchise-focused presentation.

Disneyland Paris is retaining shopping and entertainment at the district while steadily replacing or renovating pieces associated with its earlier decades. The resort has described the overhaul as a continuing transformation, with additional projects extending beyond the Disney Wonders opening.

More Disney Village work remains underway. Inside the Magic has continued tracking the wider redevelopment of Disney Village as restaurants, retail locations and public spaces change.

Once Disney Wonders opens, guests will finally be able to judge how much of the old location’s sense of Disney spectacle survived the transition—and how completely the new boutique represents the resort’s contemporary direction.
