Ticket Booth Demolition at the Disneyland Entrance
In August, Disneyland Resort filed a construction permit to demolish four ticket booth structures in the Esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Construction walls went up days later, and over the last several weeks, crews have demolished the four structures.
Increasingly, Disney Park guests purchase admission online rather than in person, reducing the need for ticket booths in the Disneyland Resort Esplanade. Disney decided to demolish all but two ticket booths to make way for a pedestrian bridge leading to a new parking structure.
Disneyland Resort also broke ground on the new parking structure last month. The garage will feature 6,000 parking spaces, 302 electric vehicle charging stations, a security office, and a transportation hub for rideshares and shuttles. The structure is the first phase of the Disneyland Forward expansion project, built to support increased traffic when new attractions such as the reimagined Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park and the Coco (2017) ride at Disney California Adventure Park open.
New Aerial Photo Shows Aftermath of the Demolition
On September 7, WDWNT shared a photo from above the construction site, taken from aboard the Disneyland Monorail:
The photo shows that any trace of the former ticket booths has disappeared. On the right side of the image are the two remaining ticket booths in the Disneyland Resort Esplanade, where guests can still purchase theme park admission in person. Tickets are also available at the Lost & Found Office.
